Join contest Subscribethis is a stupid questions: but for QD mounts there are versions that have the scope rings directly on top of the mount while others the scope rings are moved more foward. what is the difference when it comes to the function of the mount in both types?
whats the benefit of the forward offset? type of shooter that it benefits over a no forward offset mount

I own both as well. The ADM has more contact area and adjustment is easily done without the use of a tool. However, the adjustments are 1/8th turns.
The Larue is more of a fine tune adjustment (with a tool) to get the exact amount of pressure you may want but less contact area.
I just wish ADM would allow a way to lock the levers and hook up a torque wrench and apply and know for a fact you run the in lbs you want your mount than just adjust and feel.
Thought that was a down side.
