Rifle Scopes $2000????? Elcan Specter DR 1-4X

Rifleman,
I'm active duty army and the spectre dr was my primary optic.
It worked out well, bdc was great. Reticle clear and crisp for fast target acquisition as well as precision distance shooting. Was able to range my own targets and call out unknown distances. No eye box issue for me, either on 1x or 4x, make sure you mount accordingly.
Can control the red dot intensity as well as night vision compatible.
Extremely durable, dropped weapon, fell on it going over god damn burms, even impact landings with me on combat equipment airborne jumps. No poa/poi shift.

Excellent multi purpose battle reticle imo.

If you're doing straight cqb i wouldn't advise since there are better options. But it can work for cqb, not too distracting. I wouldn't consider it bulky, more like built for rough handling.

Let me know if you have any other questions about the optic brother.

I like them and own several.

I find them fast, accurate, durable and with the AR it's really the only 2 settings I care about, 1x or 4x .

i have the 1.5-6x too and like using that one.

Its not not for everyone and I gave seen them priced under $2k but for me they work great.

Rifleman and herofish,

I'll add this to my post above. As a soldier i need to be able to count on my weapon and accessories no matter the situation. With that being said I've used an acog before; didn't like it compared to my spectre. Civilians, as with my own personal weapons, baby our stuff. We wouldn't dream of dropping it in the dirt, combat rolling, falling on it, etc. so if you guys, with no disrespect, baby your equipment try other options. The elcan was built to be able to take abuse. I love how there aren't external features that can snap or break off with accidental abuse (ie a red dot attachment on top of a leupy hammer scope or a 3x flip sight like the eotechs). Its all built into the tube itself. It's simple, durable but most of all works!

I had picked one up for $1500 and it was awesome. Ended up selling it because I didn't like that I had to use a shim due to my M&P-15T not having a mil-spec picatinny rail? Or I could blame Elcan for not making/incorporating a mount that is universal to every picatinny rail. Wish I had it back now that I have sold the M&P. I have an Eotech EXPS3-0 and the STS magnifier....doesn't even come close to the Elcan. It's pricey....but unless you absolutely NEED new, you can find one for well under $2k.

Now I see the reason why they are a bit pricey. Every one seems to have good take on it. I think it's time to get one. Whew.

Rifleman I'm sure u can find a better price. Be sure to play with it before you get it!

You're going to take it in the shorts if you aren't happy and try to sell it after the fact.

I would recommend at least trying an eotech or aimpoint with a 3x. With the Larue mount you can pull it and store when you know it's not needed

Have a spectre with a Trij rmr on it. 2 effortlessly tough items. Being ex military I chose based on that but as a civilian now I really don't need that combat readiness. Most of us don't...however the glass is far and away the best I've ever seen.

Btw, stepping down price wise I would get any 1-4 or 6 with a Burris fastfire III. In fact I'm really interested in the new Primary Arms stuff with their new killer reticle. For the price I'm going to check it out
