Remington 700 Mountain Rifle stock question

Hi all
Hopefully some one here can help me. I currently have a Remington 700 Mountain rifle with a Bell and Carlson stock that comes with the Remington TI model. I find the grip on this stock to be a bit too big for me. I also have a detachable mag version of this rifle and that grip is great. I measured both and found the bc grip is 5 1/8" diameter and the dm's is 4 1/4". It's a big difference, so I'd like to replace the stock. I was thinking a McMillian Mountain rifle stock, but Mcmillian only lists the grip width as 1.38" and doesn't list overall diameter.
Does anyone have any experience handling aftermarket stocks? I wish I could handle them myself but I don't live in an area where anyone sells them.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

The McMillan Mtn rifle stock would work - its a dup of the wood Remington Mtn rifle stock for reference. Or another option would be the Hunters Edge which IMHO is about perfect for a lightweight rifle with a skinny contour barrel.

No problem, I'm a fan of the Ti take off stock. For the money they are a pretty decent stock - if they fit you that is and the biggest complaint for most is the grip. After having owned a bunch of them you will notice that the grip tends to be thicker on some than others. Not sure why. The true Ti stocks where pretty decent versus the B&C Ti you can buy, not sure why but the ones that came on the Ti rifles where a bit nicer.
I put together a "faux" Ti, this is a Gander Mtn Guide rifle in .243, they came with the same stock as a Ti and this one has a really nice grip - not as thick and is just a really nice little rifle, lightweight and shoots surprisingly well for such a light rifle.
I plan on putting this one into a Hunters Edge this year.
