Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
Is it legal to own 30mmrds like used on the A-10? If so where could a couple be bought? If not where might a couple "brass" be bought? I think these oughta make good bookends in the ManRoom!
You can find 30mm rounds or components on Gunbroker now and then. Make sure you get the proper projectiles with them though. Morons tend to match up whatever 30mm case they have with whatever 30mm projectile they have just to make a sale.
Yes it is, it's a 200 dollar stamp for each loaded rd, if it is an HE or better. Solids or chalk are cheap. There are a few single shot 30mm's around w/ quality ammo. You can still build your own DD in many states on a form 1. GAU-8/a barrels can be had. Love the folks that think a 50bmg is all that until they see a 20, 25 or 30mm speak on both ends !
Used to see the inert training rounds for sale in Shotgun News back in the day. Shouldn't be an issue for those. The DU rounds, now that's another story. The A-10s used to roll in for their gun runs right over out barracks at Range 301 in Grafenwoehr. I'm glad those big ass cases went back inside the aircraft instead of on our heads. Very impressive weapon system. Also got to see the results of those round in the Valley of Death near Al Jarah in Kuwait back in '91. Dumb asses didn't know what hit them.
I worked on the MBB 30mm cannon pod project for the F-16 way back in the early 80's and I have a 30mm shell case. Its not for sale. And I sure wouldn't want to shoot one from a shoulder fired weapon, unless it was attached to a platform that wasn't attached to me.
