Tikka T3 RCS II review

Re: Tikka T3 RCS II review

1. The delays on the RCS II project are well documented and where caused by unreliable machine operators and plastics manufacturers who didn't produce what they promised. I have appologised for this on numerouse occasions publicly and have worked my balls of to change the situation.

2. RCS II stocks became available around November 2011.Short caliber T3 stocks, Howa 1500 Short Action stocks where the first and have been now available for about 6 months with varying degree of wait time depending on how soon we could finish and assemble batches.

3. Customers waited just as lond for the first RCS II short cal T3's and it casued some complaining, which was fully understandable. These came customers have however been absolutely delighted withe the end product and we have had tons of messages back about the wait bieng well worth it and subsequent orders have followed.

4. RCS II long caliber T3 stocks have taken longer to get finished because of the issues with the length of the AICS magazines and the T3 feed port. Hence our deciding on a different magazine.

5. New products often take longer to market than was originaly intended or expected, ( take the case of the 3-20x50 Schmidt & Bender PMII for instance or the JAE-700 stock) But it is better to take time to get the product right than to market a half hearted attempt

6. The Long T3 version is almost ready with parts of the chassis waiting to be anodised right now.

7. As soon as all the required parts are in house we will begin assembly and start shipping the long cal T3 RCS II's out to customers who are waiting.

8. There are 12 pre orders for long caliber T3 RCSII stocks. These vary in length of waiting time.

9. This project has been a goers since Nov 2011 and it took far longer than I ever expected and I can only appologise for that, but it is now a goer and availability is increasing on the models already in production, the long T3 version is the next in line for release and more models will follow.

10. You complain i don't answer your emails, then you say ive been giving you the same answer for a year? which is it? The answer is as soon as humanly possible, and that means not long now, but a definate day I cannot provide you with.

11. when ordering the customer has a choice of method of payment. the card company take payment upon order, they pay us 60 days later. by bank transfer the time frame of payment is entirely up to the customer.

12. I fully appreciate your frustration about waiting, I am no less frustrated my self, so please accept my appologies for your frustration. I can only tell you that we are working hard on these stocks, we invested a lot of time and money this year to up production and ensure future production and the benefits of that investment are just starting to be shown. I can assure you that you will be absolutely delighted with the finished product and will not be waiting all that much longer.

Re: Tikka T3 RCS II review

Hi,

i've purchased whole "package" from Roedale. Customized Tikka T3 with, like this one, except in 308: Tikka

I was a bit sceptic from the beginning, i mean what i've read about Roedale deliveries to be exact. I've called Pete directly, and made deal with him. In 1 hour he sent me pro forma invoice with serial number for my rifle. Since i had some "trust issues" related with Roedale, i've transferred only half of money. For second half, i wanted to see an image with my rifle and serial number on it. I got this also, and with all the paperwork done, my rifle was at my place shipped in 3 weeks since our first phonecall.

I'm not defending Pete in any way, but there are also very good examples of his work.

PS 1: He also gave me screws which Sharac presented.
PS 2: Rifle is shooting great, first groups were realy impressive. I've shot one 3 shot group 4mm (CTC) and one 4 shot group 7mm CTC. I believe this rifle will shoot 0.4 MOA consistently.

Re: Tikka T3 RCS II review

Great reviews! Anyone else got any feedback to share?

I have a .308 T3 Tactical and am starting to see the drawbacks of the standard stock, it feels terrible under recoil when compared to other rifles (AIs, TRGs and custom built ones), maybe its just the extra weight, but they just seem to feel more solid! My stock almost seems to resonate due to it being light/hollow.

I have heard Pete and others mention on more than one occasion a new decent stock/chassis is a must-have upgrade for the T3 and can bring it close to AI-AE/TRG levels of accuracy? I guess the results posted here seem to support that?

I'm very tempted I must admit! My main concern though (and perhaps Pete can address this if he see's this post before I phone him over the next few days).....but my T3 has a CG Trigger fitted, which required a bit of trimming to the standard "bottom plastic", and also a little to the side of the stock for the safety leaver. Does the RCS2 support the CG trigger? Last thing I want to do is start hacking a new chassis/stock!

Re: Tikka T3 RCS II review

Pete, your reply on this thread on July 13th.:
"6. The Long T3 version is almost ready with parts of the chassis waiting to be anodised right now."

Almost 5 months gone and still waiting......so, seems to take damn long time to get those parts anodised!!

Can you give any real estimation about delivery time?
And please, no more excuses.... I just want to know the ETA of the goods I´ve paid!

And the story goes on.......
I finally got the long action Tikka T3 RCS II, 8 months ago; after 30 month waiting period after dozens of ridiculous excuses for the delay.
Extra plastics and one mag was promised as pre-order gift, but haven´t seen those yet...... 8 months from the moment I got the stock.
No replies to e-mails since October 2013. This is so frustrating........... how the hell anyone can make business this way........
And please, no defencies for Roedale........... order partially delivered 30 months after payment and order still unfinished after 38 months....
I just want you to know what can be expected when ordering from Roedale......

Does anyone have one of these and a WC3 Folder to compare? I am looking for a second Tikka Stock(Already have a gen 4 WC3) and trying to narrow it down.

Just ordered the RCS II for my Tikka T3 in 7mm mag. I will post a review after I get it. I did a mountain of research on this and decided this was the best stock/chassis for my Tikka LA and the best price too!

See you in 2016 then

Bevan, was it you who had a bad experience with getting your stock in a timely manner? If so, I was sorry to read about your ordeal. I seems like that was very unfortunate. I think Pete has everything running pretty smoothly at this time. I guess we'll see if that's a correct assumption in a few more weeks. I hope it is correct.

No, I didn't order an RCS, but Roedale delivery time complaints exist going back as long as I can remember (6+ years) and are continually ongoing, love the products hate the wait

Hi guys. I'm new to the forum and was just contacting Roedale to get more info on this chassis but I think I will just back out of that. I'm trying to find a chassis/stock for my Tikka T3 lite lefty chambered in 300wsm and though these guys would be the ticket but I'm just not into maybes and the fight some ppl have had to go through just to get their money back. I guess I'll go on the hunt for something else.... If I can find it.

So I ordered mine about 9 days ago. You can login to your account on their website and see the status of your order. Mine currently is awaiting and export permit that has been applied for. That should take a few more days, maybe a week at the most to get. Then, it will be shipped to the good old USA. I don't think there will be any issues. They have their system down now. Maybe in the past it wasn't as efficient, but it seems so lately.

I'd appreciate if you kept me in the loop as to how your ordering experience went Chiva. Keep us updated. Thanks.

i dont really know if i should order one or not.. i wrote an email to Roedale 4 times now asking about delivery time for a Left hand RCSII to fit my Tikka. ... and no answer what so ever..
think im gonna keep my money in my pocket and look for another stock..
The RCSII is bad ass . but not worth waiting 30 months for..
it's just to much money to take the risk..

I bought a Left handed Tikka chassis from Roedale, was aware of the wait, after seeing the '2 week shipping' on the site, I thought ok they must be in stock, so I ordered, waited a few weeks and emailed - the Skins showed up, no chassis... A few months later (6 months total) the chassis showed up, but no action screws - Pete was good enough to quickly send some action screws to me. I've recently sold the chassis, and i've just bought a Tikka LH S/A chassis from a guy who made a few in Australia. Why did I swap a LH Tikka chassis for a LH Tikka chassis? Because the one I swapped it for is better made/designed/featured in my opinion.

Not going to bad-mouth Roedale, they have some nice stuff, but there is a chance you'll get past the point of being patient.

it is a nice stock. thats a fact.
but the waiting isnt worth it. . at least i dont think .
do you have a link to the guy u got the stock from, or was it a private guy. ??
ive been looking for a new stock in what seems ages. theres not to many good stocks made for a left hand shooter.. at least not that i like. .

I know this is an old thread, but I'll bump it up and ask:

Has ANYONE EVER seen a RSC2 long action?

Do they exist?

RCS II Long action

Yes I have got one. Must have been lucky as I only waited for 2 weeks. Put a Tikka T3 Tac in 300 Win Mag in it. Looks great, shoots great.
I tried to order viper rails in addition. After about 6 months of wait I cancelled the order for the rails and got my money back within 2 weeks.

Have you received your stock?
Its almost a year since they applied for the export permit for my stock, and I'm still waiting.
I'm starting to believe that they dont exist, since I've never seen a picture of one. Guessi says he has one and that he got in in 2 weeks so, who knows? Maybe that's because he's in Germany?

I have not got my stock yet. I ordered it second week in Feb of this year. It's been about 10 weeks. I've e-mailed customer service 4 times with no reply. I also sent a pm to Pete Lincoln but no reply. Look, I know they may be busy, but after trying to contact them 5 times one would think they would at least send me a quick reply. No such luck. Not sure if I should cancel my order or wait. On the website it shows my export permit has been applied for 3 different times. Maybe it's some government red tape. I just wish I wasn't in the dark. A little info would go a long way.

Well, I've got kind of good news for you. I cancelled my order at its one-year anniversary recently, which bring you one step ahead in the queue.
RANT MODE: ON
If there was just ONE manufacturer that would dare make a chassis that DOESN'T use AI mags. Then maybe all Tikka LA owners can finally have a Chassis.
Why are everyone competing in the the exact same market? Why make something that everyone else is making? AI, KRG, XLR and Roedale they all cater to the SA AI magazine.
Meanwhile the only company that (claims to)make Tikka LA chassis happens to be the worst one I've ever dealt with.
ALL CHASSIS MAKERS LISTEN: THERE ARE OTHER MAGAZINES THAN AI. HECK, MAKE ONE THAT USES STOCK TIKKA MAGAZINES.
RANT MODE: OFF

btw, I can't find the long action chassis on Roedale's website anymore.

Just got this message a few days ago:

R.....,
no problem with the order. The chassis should be ready soon. We had a machine break down on us and it has put us months behind I am afraid. Being a small company that sort of problem hits us hard. Please bear with us and we will have your chassis on its way as soon as possible.

I got RCS Tikka T3 long action May 2013, after 30 months waiting period . Extra plastic set and mag was promised as pre-order gift but haven´t seen those yet.... It´s gone almost 4 years from the original order!
GUESSI, do you have any problems with mag latch/release button? Besides that it is not possible to remove the mag with one hand the mag is automatically released by the cartridges in mag when reloading.... And that is because the latch goes throug the mag side plate and therefore pushed by cartridge going upward....
I´ve already redesigned the mag locking to be located in front of the mag..... After this modification it is possible to take off the mag with one hand.

Hi Poikma,

no I had no trouble with the mag release even if I find the design with the release going through the side plates not perfect either. I have a 300 win mag caliber and find the Voere mags acceptable for the long action version but would prefer AICS mags instead. Putting the mag in sometimes takes some fumbling around but after some time I got used to it. Can't believe how lucky I was reading how long it took you to receive the stock. Anyhow I had to cancel the rails as I was promised they would be there within 2 weeks, was too long for me after 6 months of waiting. In any case, ergonomically one of the best stocks around for the T3.

Am still waiting for the folding option than can be reinstalled, haven't seen any update on Lincolns webshop yet. When available I give it a try.
