So I bought my son one for christmas in 6.5 creedmore and here are the problems we are having.Out of 2 boxes of factory Hornady 140 Amax's we have had 6 misfires,the accuracy is not great and with the factory ammo seated at 2.810 it is in the lands when chambered.I am going to load for this gun and with my OAL Guage I measure 2.805.Very light primer strikes.I know these are great guns but I guess I will call Savage tomorrow.Anybody had any problems with these?

A friends new LRP in 6.5 also has a very short throat. I believe I was seating the HRNDY 140bthp @ 2.775" to achieve a .020" jump.
His does not have a light strike issue, and is an excellent shooter, albeit a bit slow. 2730fps with 41.5gr H4350.
If I were you, I'd check torque on your optics mounting arrangement, and measure your firing pin protrusion, it ought to be .050"-.065".
Aside from that, measure the datum length of fresh ammo vs. fired. It ought not be more than ~.005" difference.

I just shot mine for the first time Saturday with the hornady 140 gr. Not great accuracy and there is a thread here and other places about the ammo not being as good as it used to be.

No problems with mine, but its in .260...
My LRPV is a 223... Very accurate, no issues.
I just picked up an LRP in 260rem. The measurement for OAL is 2.891 with 140 A-Max touching the lands. As for how it shoots, well that's the age old problem of have boom-stick but wife just does not understand why I need to spend more money just to buy a scope.
Like someone else above has said I have read a lot of complaints about newer 6.5cred loading from hornady. I hope you get it figured out. I am betting you own loads shoot better.

I pulled one factory round and measured 41.5 GRS of powder.This gun shoots great with 42.2GRS H4350.With my hornady OAL guage 2.805 is in the lands.I called Savage a couple weeks ago about the misfires and they told me to adjust the trigger pull up a half pound and torque the stock back to 35 LBS to solve the misfire problems,so I did and no help.I have no idea how that could fix misfire problems but I did it.As far as I know the firing pin in a savage action can be adjusted but he said if I mess with that it will void the warranty and if the gun ever gets sold I want the buyer to be able to shoot factory ammo and at the first outing I found out why the gun was so hard to chamber a factory round.The factory ammo OAL is 2.810 it was jamming the bullet into the lands.I guess it will have to go back to savage for inspection.
Send it back. Let them srew with it.
Sometimes if you side load the accublade it can cause this. Try to make sure you are coming strait back with the trigger. This is part of the reason they asked you to try with it turned up more. Double check your firing pin protrusion, and are you sure your primers are set down all the way? My last batch of Lapua 22-250 brass had primer pockets that were deeper than normal.

Savage LRP Problems
I recently bought one and out of the box using hornady 140gr amax, 120gr amax, and 129gr sst, got no better than 1.5-2" at 100 groups. I sent it back to savage just for them to send it right back after 5 weeks and tell me that nothing was wrong and it met their specs. I also have a buddy that bought one around the same time that kept blowing primers when using the 140gr amax. He sent his back the other day.

So I tried reloading with a lot better results, but apparently there's no danger in being able to use hornady factory ammo in mine.
