I am curious as to which weapon you guys believe would have the edge at 1600m in a stand off,

Barrett m107A1
Or you fav
.338 mrad / Ai
Cheytac can’t play, too expensive

The same great shooter would be behind both weapons, (in theory at least), with his fav. scope
With which weapon do you think he is more likely to be able to beat himself, once the shooting starts

The more accurate 338 bolt
Or the rapad fire
Barrett

I somehow think the ability to of the auto to somewhat walk rounds would be a difficult obstacle to overcome for the 338, this may help him adjust his scope better with so much more feedback

How good of a shot is your shooter? If he is a good enough shot he is much more likely to get a first round hit on a man sized target at 1600 with the MRAD. If he is going to need 10 rounds to make the hit then he can get them off faster with the M107.

Problem with the question is that they really are completely different systems. The MRAD is a precision rifle with a pretty good trigger. I see the M107 as kind of a man portable anti material sledge hammer. The less said about the trigger the better. So if you mission includes disabling vehicles you would take the M107. If you just want to shoot people or animals then take the MRAD.

Ok I'll jump in, never been all that bright.
Taking everything on face value I would have to go with the mrad.
And now for my reasoning. I have not shot either of these rifles but got to snuggle with the mrad and watch it shot and seems accurate. The M107A1 on the other hand doesn't seem that accurate. And not sure the gun could make the shot in 10 rounds even with super sniper behind it.
Maybe my thinking is off, maybe someone with more experience can correct me.

For a actual response this time the 338 for sure, if both guys spot each other at the same time and dope the same time you have a better chance for a first round hit with the mrad the Barrett May miss and see a lot of dust through his optics while the mrad shooter could cycle the bolt fast and get a follow up shot very quickly

I will say the mrad is more accurate BUT in real world conditions the 50 is close, even if the gun itself isn't as accurate the 50 would deal with the wind and conditions better, but yes I would still bet on the 338 lapua considering this shooter is really as good marky mark!!!!

Well if it was Marky Mark on both ends would be a stale mate as they would shoot each other's bullets out of the air.

I agree 100% so now the question is who has the most ammo! It doesn't matter that the 107 is semi auto cause marky mark could in a pinch cycle the bolt faster than the eye, so how about marky mark vs chuck Norris? I bet chuck could leave the rifle behind and close the distance and kick markys ass with his bare hands before any action cycle was completed by any gun!
