Figured this one may be worth its own topic, since the more this one gets explored, the more interesting it gets! It also seems that it may be beneficial to separate this topic from the various TR threads.

Not that it is uncommon for people to make "unusual claims" on the internet, but given how deep and elaborate some of the claims are made by "Eddieg1979" it seems to warrant some further investigation.

Long story short "Eddieg1979", has made some very "interesting" claims:

"I have a rifle built by them and it has been in use in more places on this earth than you can name. It is damn good and then some, worth every penny. I actually called up to ask a question and I talked to Dave for a while and he is a cool guy. I guess that guy who had a bad rifle didn't know what he wanted and is not an avid shooter, I question his judgment and his inspection of the rifle. It sounded quite fishy to me. After over 50,000+ rounds I still took a terrorist at 1,230 yards one shot."

"I'm guessing as the serial number does not look like something too familiar with TR, usually it starts with the guy's last name, then the number. For example: your name, the serial number would be H1234567891, not W112134 like a store bought rifle, this is due to custom built to the customer.By the way, I have not seen any GA Precision or other rifles of the like in Afghanistan or Iraq, I am completing my 8th tour of the middle east, 56 countries and counting. I have seen TR rifles in 7 countries."

If you have anything that you would like to share in regards to "eddieg1979's" claims, please contribute that information here.

PLEASE NOTE - this is not intended to be a name calling, mud slinging, personal attack effort. This is simply meant to be a place where information can be collected, and reviewed in a "professional manner". I am sure that everyone is aware of the current environment, and will hopefully realize that it will be beneficial to everyone if this is handled in a manner that will represent everyone involved in a positive light.

ALSO NOTE - I have sent "eddieg1979" a message with a link to this thread, so he is more than welcome to observe and respond accordingly.

The cats claim of 56 countries... really!? I thought my 12 was high! This guy must have all kinds of "Operator Status!"

And seriously who the fuck puts up on youtube that they've killed someone!

Imagine what he could do with a full-on benchrest set up... a big thick barrelled, 25lb. 6 Dasher on a Panda action, with worked up handloads with Berger/JLK bullets, plus all the rear and front rests that those guys use. We might be looking at a world record benchrest shooter right there.

I'm amazed that he can get factory ammo to shoot that well. Just 20fps ES in his MV would produce all the vertical in those groups, so he is basically shooting sub-0.1moa once the MV variation is removed (I found this source on M-118LR ammo that cites a 30fps ES: American Ballistics' M118LR Ammunition - Shooting Reviews | Shooting Reviews). Give this guy some top quality match ammo and damn, we are talking one hole at 500yds on the vertical plane!

He cites a wind condition of 'gusty 8mph'. I don't see any wind drift in there however. I guess 15 seconds is quick enough to shoot in the same wind conditions ... (?) But for the speed of the trigger pulls and the lack of a rear rest, that horizontal deflection is world record quality as well.

I am glad I believe everything I see on the internet.

Shankster linked this the other day:

https://plus.google.com/114795325742691890853/posts

It appears as though he's edited it however. I would imagine that Rooney is monitoring traffic here and telling his shills where they're getting busted and having them take down the B.S. content that can be verified independently.

For example, on the google link, on one of the camo effectiveness videos, he made a comment about doing OPFOR for both 1/7 and 3/8 in the Marines. I posed the question on the other thread asking how he was OPFOR for both of those units, since 1/7 is in 29 Palms and 3/8 is in Lejeune (where he claims to be). I no longer see his comments about working with both of those units.

...... Just 20fps ES in his MV would produce all the vertical in those groups, so he is basically shooting sub-0.1moa once the MV variation is removed (I found this source on M-118LR ammo that cites a 30fps ES: American Ballistics' M118LR Ammunition - Shooting Reviews | Shooting Reviews). ....

I'm sorry, I misquoted my own source. That source is quoting Federal Gold Medal Match load as doing 30fps ES. The M-118LR did 100+ fps ES with a SD of 32fps (n = 13 rounds, tested with an Oehler 35).

Maybe the shooter in this video had a better lot of M-118LR. But with 5 rounds and an SD of 32fps, we would be taking about at least 1 or 2 rounds that are +/- 60fps from mean of the 5 rounds. That would produce a vertical spread on the target of ~3" at 500yd from just MV variation. So, the shooter, at under 1" of vertical on the target, is WELL under the expected variation from the ammunition alone. I don't see how the shooter/rifle combo could possibly make up for this ammunition limitation. Shooter/rifle can't change external ballistics and couldn't possibly know which round is going to be slow and which one is going to be fast.

Maybe my source on M-118LR ammo is wrong. Does anyone have any SD/ES data on M-118LR that they can add?

Plenty of Fish profile, same guy? It certainly looks like the same guy from the video.

Here's his review on PNW ammo. Similar video from before, but with an even MORE ridiculous group. You have GOT to see this shit.
PNW Arms .308 Sniper Ammo Test 2 - Ammo You Want | Ammo You Want

He also makes some interesting comments below the vid:

May 25 2013:
"....PNW is made to tight tolerances and is really higher quality match ammo compared to Federal Gold Medal Match 175 grain. As for the 180 grain match ammo, if it is match, the ballistic coefficient is lower thus with less drag compared to a lighter grain projectile with a 1:10 twist ratio..."

Am I confused? is he saying a lower BC is less drag/more efficient?

May 25, 2013
"Also, this 175 grain ammo I shot at 100-500 yards and the rifle I am using has a 1:10 twist, the ballistic coefficient is .505 with a velocity of 2890 f/s. This is extremely consistent out of my 20 inch barrel. I have shot competitions with federal 168 & 175, but have had some inconsistencies with the grouping over the last 15 years. The PNW is clean, bright and when I randomly pulled the bullets, the weights were within a +/- .001 grain which is better than Federal, Hornady and Black Hills.
"
Again, supernatural ammo performance. If I push a 175 out of a 20" barrel at 2600 or so with a G1 BC in the high 400s then I feel like I'm doing something.
Also, I think even Elfster would have to be happy with +/- .001gr between rounds in a handload, to get that from factory ammo?

May 25, 2013
"You can contact PNW arms at pnwarms.com and get some other technical questions answered. I have shot this at 1,300 yards and it is still consistent in grouping. It also has a little less recoil compared to issued M118 LR (Issued Sniper ammo) that we have here in the Marine Corps and other match ammo I have used for competitons (high powered rifle, NRA, EIC, USMC rifle teams, etc) I would honestly be sure the rifling you have is about a 1:10 for 168-180 grain ammo."

I think someone else already hit this one

May 25, 2013
"Then check the grouping at 100 yds with (2) 3 shot groups and one 4 shot group, all with a small pause to allow the barrel to cool, record your information. The PNW ammo has been the most consistent when my barrel is hot after firing 100 rounds through my M40A5 out to 1,000 yards. I don’t think the pit puller messed up my shot holes, but I was hitting the 3 & 5 inch shot spotter consistently in 15 MPH wind at Stone Bay rifle range."

Again, I think this one has already been hit, but COME THE FUCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May 25, 2013
"The M1A shoots tight groups with this as well, mine is a national match and it can shoot the 175′s better than the 168′s, I also use a competition set up. I do prefer iron sights over a scope. Just my personal opinion"

Claims to have a NM M1A shooting irons, the M1A pictured in his google link above is NOT a NM. Does he have TWO M1As?

LOL There won't be a hole on earth that Eddie will be able to crawl in by the weekend with all of us google stalking this clown.

.....And who the fuck puts a bipod in the middle of the gun??

^^^ That has to be the same guy, the POF profile and in the video.

I think so too. He took down the video of the clown hiding in the woods (BADLY) wearing a bunch of different camo patterns. I'm thinking that may have been him as well.

Here's the same video I linked above, but on his youtube channel. I can only imagine some of the better comments are from our fellow Hiders:

Killshot, I know the Blackplanet link is NOT the same guy (unless he has spent a LOT of time in the sun).

LMAO...yeah, I caught that after I posted it! :D

Although who knows, if Rooney has some pixie dust that turns him into a custom rifle builder, then may Eddie used some of the same magic to turn himself black. The plausibility of Eddie turning black is about on par with Rooney building a quality rifle.

LOL There won't be a hole on earth that Eddie will be able to crawl in by the weekend with all of us google stalking this clown.

True that! BTW, here's where he gets his ammo (scroll down to read his review of said ammo):

Premium Match Grade 7.62x51mm Sierra MatchKing PNW Arms 175 grain hollow point boat tail ammunition - 20 Rounds

He claims that "The ammo is the best I have fired so far, it even beats out the M118LR that I was issued through many courses". Word on the street is that he was the high shooter for every course he ever attended (instructors recognized that he was operator as fuck and allowed him to use his self-issued TR magic stick)!

The guy is totally full of shit. Too many lies and the people who believe his shit aren't worth the time or effort as they wouldn't understand anyway. I'm going to file this and the rest of this drama under "People I give zero fucks about".

Would love to see this Eddie guy shoot against Sherri Jo Gallagher. Besides being a babe, she is so damn bad ass behind a rifle its not even funny. I would actually fund the ammo and range fees for that match.

Man that guy can shoot. I got to shoot a custom benchrest rifle built for 600yrd competition and I could not drive it that well and I was shooting off of a front rest and rear bag.

Here is the rifle I got to try just wish my 3.5" 600yard group was as good as Eddie's 500yard one but maybe it was the "junk" rifle I was shooting.

600-Yard World Record Light Gun

I just spent three months helping first time high school air rifle shooters who started with better trigger pulls than this clown. I'd bet on any of them against this guy in a 3P competition (he says he shot high power, so he should be all over that, right?).

Since you guys sent him a link to this thread, I'll repost what I put up on page 5 of the other one here so that we can get this sorted:

http://www.snipershide.com/shooting...rica-supports-tr-law-suit-against-hide-5.html

Zero follow through, slaps the trigger, has his trigger finger ON the stock, shoots with one eye closed, raises his face off the stock AND raises the rear of the rifle and then practically does a cheese grater imitation when working the bolt.

Expert.

Open challenge to whoever gets a hold of this guy:

Bring your TR.net rifle to Utah and shoot a simple course of fire with me in prone, seated and off a barricade for time and accuracy. I'll let you take as much time as you need to rezero, warm up, do fucking jumping jacks, whatever. We'll have a 3rd party watch and tally.

If Mr. 50,000 rounds 1 inch group sniper wins, I'll pay for his flight (both ways), his hotel stay, any ammunition he used and I'll give him whatever rifle I used in the challenge as a trophy. It'll probably be a M24A2 with a Steiner 5-25MSR; so you'd go home quite a few $$$ ahead.

He loses and I get to take a YouTube video of his reaction to when I get to take a sawszall to his world record holding rifle.

I'm here anytime.

I deleted the thread that I had started on basically the same subject. Redundant to this one.

There may be something in the water in Eastern NC.

Is Sureshot Gunsports the Range? If so, what kind of ASSCLOWN doesn't know what a fucking SUPPRESSOR looks like?

"It's probably a flash hider" REALLY?????? I understand that a lot of people have never seen or heard one in real life, but How the FUCK do you go your entire movie-watching life without recognizing a suppressor. It would even have been acceptable for him to call it a "silencer".

Sweet baby Jeezus.

Just for reference, this is what a roughly similar 5 rounds of .308 looks like next to a quarter.

You'll be happy to know that I shot this group at 1231 yards with the help of a terrorist who graciously held the target.

Nice job.
If the shots were made at the borders of Botswana-Namibia-Zambia-Zimbabwe, and the bullets traveled through all four countries, then you may have topped cousin Eddie!

Doubt we will get a reply, but you can only hope.

Even the range called him BS. thats some funny shit right there!

Shit just got serious!!

....Well played Sir, well played.

The range he works his magic on is just down the road from Lejeune, which I am pretty sure he has mentioned in his posting. Not sure if there are any USMC members here who might have heard about a "Super Sniper" on base?

So far no one from the range has responded back on the Facebook page as to who this guy is? Given the issue with someone going down range while the range is still hot, I would hope that it would get someones attention?

Thanks to everyone, and keep up the great work!

Don't the elite operator guys have mil ranges to use for practice?
Why would this shadowy ninja warrior go to a public range?

Because they wont ask him about the camera and why he is poking holes in a good paper target with a pencil.

Stereo-typical eastern NC guy...oh wait. I hope he shoots Woody's so we can watch this rifle in action
