What is so stupid about Trump's statement is that it is almost too easy to get a warrant to legally hold somebody's guns if there is an actual credible threat that they have made. Judges pass out warrants like candy for all kinds of things like that, all you have to do is ask & probably in an hour or less you have your warrant.
Then if somebody is actively threatening to do an action immediately or such, the police can show up anyways and because of "exigent circumstances" and haul them in for questionining.
Sure let's just shred all the rights of everybody and have a full on police state because people can't be bothered to spend the 30 minutes to write a request and get a warrant?

Has anyone taken into consideration that he was in a public meeting with some of the most anti-guns assholes in Washington? With the current climate he couldn't just sit there and call them all retards. His body language with the folded arms and facial expressions that said "wow you are all morons" was a pretty good tell. He dismissed Feinenstein quickly and disrespectfully.
He told them to "go write something". I personally did not hear "I will sign it" like he did when trying to negotiate on immigration.
I personally would have prefered if he called them all pinheads and dropped the mic, but this was all about optics and 2020.

Scalise wanted to put concealed carry reciprocity in whatever bill they're drafting, and Trump told him to keep it out because the bill wouldn't get passed. Trump is reviewing whatever bullshit "assault weapons" legislation that Feinstein drafted up. Trump is going to issue an executive order in order to ban scary gun accessories. Trump says due process can wait.
In the meantime, hopefully the Supreme Court nuts up and shuts down anything that these guys might pass. I'm really hoping that the news is filled with Senators and Reps shredding Trump over this meeting. It's been relatively quiet so far, and that's really scary.

1) He'd be a kickass president
2) He'd be a POS like all the others
3) He'd be even worse than that
Don't see anyone running that I think would better than option 2. Not Cruz, certainly not Rubio, and probably not even Paul. I could go for Allen West, but really depends on what time it is.
So, since option 1 hasn't been ruled out, yet, for Trump, I'm just gonna double down on my support for the guy. May blow up in my face, but I never worked EOD before and am completely ignorant of all the safety practices.

He's certainly not acting like the NY Liberal you portray him as. I'm obviously not on board with firearm restrictions, but, that is a single-issue fight we can have. I believe if Trump is serious about these restrictions; we can kill it in congress and in the media. Trump is still at risk of losing his second term.
