Case prep when trimming not needed?

I would check for any burs. Just kind of feel my way around with the chamfer tool.

I shot some 300 blk subs 2 days ago.
They dont grow much at all, in fact will still go into chamber gauge.
Never hit the ground.

Have considered just loading without sizing once, just to see?
Will probably mess up neck tension, think I will check a round or 2.

Yea you will likely have less than .0005 neck tension. It would be quicker to just dump some powder into your rifle and get it over with.

@jpgolffl

Just checked some rounds from the fired new brass.
They were 0.005 - 0.006 over loaded round on the necks.
I could push a bullet in with my fingertip.
Shoulder may have moved by .002

So I dont think I will be loading any like that, but they still fit case gauge.
Wont even have to trim them.
Sized 31 cases and will have to do a slight debur on some, most not.

Next batch may play with crimp, already sitting on the powder, and cannelure is what it is.

Edit: I noticed that inside the cases were cleaner than normal.
Could be because I tumbeled with polish before loading virgin brass,
Or the cfeblk powder burns very clean?

Im not following what you are attempting to do. If you don't want to FL resize and the headspace on the brass is fine just neck size. You will always have to resize the neck to load the brass again. If you do only neck size with a semi-auto(not recommended) I would def check every one with a case gauge to make sure the bolt will close all of the way home!

No I fls, Just was joking about the brass in a 300 sub not moving enough
To still fit in a chamber gauge.

If the neck didn't move like it did it would be gtg otherwise.

We also load a lot of mixed range brass so neck sizing would be a pain.
