Tactical Adidas sweatsuits on display.

Showing up tactifoolish only emboldens the quote below. And when no one holds public servants to their oaths of office, maybe it’s best not to feed into their narratives.

“"I think people need to recognize that society has changed and just to say no and we're not going to do anything, to me as a legislator is not the right thing to do," Hornback said.”

Edit: Showing up without guns on display and looking ready for a job interview would go a long way.

The time for genteel debate is past. It had not served us.

We need to draw the line and punish, severely, anyone who steps over that line.

I'd argue we need to punish those that dare walk up to it

dude, HMFIC made it clear that crap like this is not ok to post up.

This is a place to discuss shooting and related matters.
NOT to make threats on the internet.

All those scary non-automatic automatic weapons...not a single act of violence.
Amazing isn't it!! Seems same thing in VA...do I spot a trend.

Also apparently, and we should make sure no hollywood lib ever wears it, there is a hatred for outdoors camouflage. I mean, they didn't go dressed in as a marble pillar which would have been the appropriate "camouflage" for that location.

Straight to the real point.
The Huff would have loved a shooting at one of these events.
All these folks walking around armed and not a single violent gun.
I'd wager there is more guns per square foot there than in Chicago's combat zone.
Still no one died.
As the Girls at the Huff spout their bias.
If there had not been those like these they'd still be in the kitchen.
To dense to see the likeness.
Some may disagree with the dress, I'll give to each their own.

During the Civil Rights struggle era, what really scared the Racist Democrats and the FBI was when "Protesters" showed up in nice suits, sometimes carrying guns, but all perfectly under control and acting in unison, being civil, decent but uncompromising.

Vote how ya want, it won't matter. All long ago rigged *and* both Parties now work for Global Billionaires and will put that agenda forward no matter who you vote for.

Get a clue - we are owned and operated by a Global Oligarchy - and you won't "vote them out" you'll only "elect" someone who plays to their half of the Nation.

The Republic has lived high and large for 240 years and it's time for a rebuild. Just as predicted and expected by The Founders. It can't be sustained in this century without a major overhaul.

And that's coming no matter how you vote or what you believe. Those who make peaceful Revolution impossible are making violent Revolution inevitable. I still think we can revamp it without anyone getting hurt. Kinda sick of the Violence Mongers and Intimidation of Bullies who won't compromise.

Had to go all the way to the bottom of the article to find this...

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article referred to the weapons as automatic. They are semi-automatic.

Really too bad Armalite Corp wasn't called Pretty, Nice, Cool or something like that. Then people could not be so stupid as to assume the A in AR is Automatic. Good grief these reporters are stupid...oh, wait...no...they have an agenda that is counter to the 2A.

TBH, whats the big deal?

Was anyone assaulted, arrested?

Oh thats right...optics.

Its not like right to bear arms is in the Constitution, or anything...

I hate to break it, but most people have made up their minds about 2A and guns in general. Optics isnt likely to sway anyone either way...its a polarizing topic.

Better energy is spent to introduce and educate our youth (hint, public school isnt going to do it for you) about 2A and why it is so important..the historical precedent. And what happens to unarmed populations who are at the mercy of tyrannical rule. Heck, you do not even need to go that far back to get examples.

I've got no problem with the rifles. The GI Joe-wannabe kit... eh. It's not nearly as cool as those guys think it is. I'd be much more impressed with a nice AR slung over a well-fitted suit. Or do the Euro thing and pair a sport jacket with dark jeans. Leave the "tactical" kit for cosplay at the range.

It's covering up faces that crosses the line for me. That triggers a hard-wired defensive response from the deep recesses of our brain. This sort of threatening gesture is what thugs do, and we ain't thugs... right? There may be a time and place for that, but it's not in front of the cameras in a government building. Geez - let's exercise some dignity and self-control.

This. This right here.

We will fix the current problem not by ranting among like-minded individuals on gun forums or trolling hard-minded opposition, but rather on the fringes. Find a co-worker who is maybe a soft anti-gunner, and take him and his son to the range. Volunteer with the local conservation groups. Take opportunities to educate the undecided - and yes, there are a lot of people who don't take a hard for-or-against stance on the 2nd - any time you engage in debate.

Always keep in mind that the silent majority is watching our behavior, and the behavior of the opposition, and that we are being continuously judged by our words and deeds. Act accordingly.

And holy fuck, don't wear balaclavas while armed on the floor of the state capital.

Sorry for the edit but this right here is paramount....^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Most people in the US don't know what to do or are looking for a way to understand and when we act like thugs and dress like paramilitary and scare them we just alienate them. We need as many on our side as possible if we hope to retain our Rights without violence. name one thing that you can get in Life that is easier and faster if you threaten, bully, badger, demand, and act like a dick? Nothing....

But if you earn peoples respect and gain credibility with them we can get what we want. We won't get what we want faster by demanding it and being dicks. We have to start acting like we have credibility instead of playing to neutral people worst fears.

I missed that part, did someone act like a thug? Or was wearing something in itself an act of thuggery?

If the hearts and minds arent already lost, then they will be within a few years...even if 2A supporters wear a tuxedo to every rally from this day on...

WHAT is not doing us any good? what IS doing us any good? here in VA we had tens of thousands peacefully march. we had the vast majority of counties turn into 2a sanctuaries. despite both awesome showings of force and will, the dems haven't missed a beat forwarding their antigun bills. get out and vote come november, that will do us good.

I'm pretty sure in KY they would get lit up.

The only way to turn this around is through fixing our education system.... but will admit to being absolutely clueless about how to go about doing it. How do you remove leftist bias in the education system?

I'm inclined to disagree with you. Most guys who wear a tie wind up looking like Dilbert.

Like what your local sheriff department and police are doing?

Being as it's still America and all, thanks are probably due to all who attended for taking time away from work and family, spending their hard earned money on travel, and participating in a demonstration for all of our rights, regardless of what they wore.

Do you think this picture of what happened represents gun owners in America in a way that helps US? If you do then you are our nemesis and part of the fucking problem. What good does this do? This is not going to help US. And if you think it will you are part of the problem and will get US deprived of our weapons. This image will not help US. If I saw these guys locally strutting and smirking like this in a government place I'd vacate the premises. I work a lot in county courthouses and State facilities and if I saw this shit where I am I'd run.

Not. Cool.

Pulling a ski mask over one's face during a political protest is thuggery.

Maybe they were concerned that supporting 2A could negatively impact their livelihoods and the safety of their families...not a far stretch when you stop think about it a little more.

Hearts and minds for 2A are likely already lost or will be in the matter of a few years.

I mean you may believe differently and thats cool. Its all just opinion.

There are many reasons but between the media, education and global economics...it is what it is.

I offer no solutions...

Voting does help. Calling your state representative helps. Being involved helps the best it can.

On Dec. 13 Republican Brandon Reed, my area rep, returned my call to his office with his personal, unblocked phone number, to talk about what bill was being proposed. He assured it would never make it to the floor for vote in the Republican House of Representatives.

The idea was brought forth by a liberal Democrat, Jeff Donahue, from Louisville during the transitional phase of the newly elected governor.

Our previous governor was more 2A then any in my memory. He eliminated having to have a concealed carry permit, he believed if you can legally own a gun you can carry it. We have been an open carry state since I was a kid. Unfortunately the rest of his politics weren't as well liked so he got voted out.

The people that brought guns to Frankfort did as much good as everyone that went to Virginia. Personally I agree about the masks being unprofessional but at least they went and stood up for their beliefs.

not aimed at MD, but that's a copout. parents have the unique ability, and frankly the mandate, to raise their kids with good values. they should be able to reverse out any crap taught at school. part 2 of this is getting your family and kids out shooting, and making sure their kids bring their friends. get everyone interested and invested in shooting and guns and we'll have lots more voting on our side.

Agree.

A few quick history lessons, some of which happened right here in the USA is a good start...

Shooting as a sport is another good entry point.

But bottom line, you can bet schools are not teaching about 2A. At least favorably or within the spirit of its intention. That would make people feel uncomfortable and well...we cant have that.

Probably the best thing to teach our kids is critical thinking skills...and to challenge (at least in their own minds) what they are being told are truth and facts...

Where do you start teaching critical thinking and not to believe everything that is told on the news and in history books? If it's when they are young it goes against everything taught in schools before then and after. Most history teachers have a standard plan that is approved before they can teach it. If a student gets to questioning what they are being told then they are "problem child with no respect for authority" and blown off.

The only thing that differentiates those in your picture and many patrolling the streets is a badge.
Now how do you or your daughters/wives feel when pulled over for speeding by a douchebag dressed like that in an unmarked patrol vehicle (mostly SUVs)??
Are you local Sheriff and Police? Do you have that credibility and respect?

I personally know many of the guys in the local police and sheriff department. Creditability and respect are not words that I would use to describe their character.
But I don't want a visit from the CAT so I will let it go at that.
