New York is on the fast track to becoming the next San Francisco. It's government have become nothing but an elitist compost bag full of raw sewage that is leaking quite happily into the pro-USA communities beyond the urban cesspools of NYC, Nassau, and Albany.
At the same time, I hope that this nonsense is going to get the Fudds to finally wake the fuck up and the real Patriots to start uniting in earnest. Nothing short of a Virginia style response coordinated by our own home state version of the VCDL is going to make any headway in this place.
We are going to need a lot of help in the upcoming months or so. The leftists might not be able to take over the Red southern states, for now, and they are doubling their efforts on trying to drive their own districts right into the river.

What's even more fucked up is that New Yorkers only seem to have two choices when it comes to 'pro-2A' organizations. The NRA or the NYSRPA (NYS Rifle and Pistol Association). I don't have any faith in the former. The latter is more local and it's members share the same concerns as everyone else because they are from the same communities. I am going forward this image to the NYSRPA later and see if they know anything about this crap. And I might join up on one of the home state gun forums and see if anyone is stirring on this.

Others have proposed similar laws. And, it's an impossible law, in that fulfilling that requirement will literally be impossible. You can be SURE that no insurance company will underwrite a policy that indemnifies the holder for committing a CRIME.
Actionable "damages" resulting from the use of a firearm are a CRIME. And, the notion of an insurance company indemnifying a policy holder against liability for breaking the law is LAUGHABLE.
So, either the lawmakers are idiots (entirely possible) for not even understanding what INSURANCE is. Or, they KNOW it's an impossibility, and they see it as a back door approach to disarmament. Of course, it won't work. But, they are desperate and will try anything. Or... they're simply idiots.
The insurance companies would LAUGH at this concept. In fact, ALL insurance policies specifically EXCLUDE liability resulting from illegal activity. I have malpractice insurance, but it won't pay if my actions that result in injury were CRIMINAL.

So, this bill applies to "assault weapon ammunition," which is as mythical as "assault weapon." So, in order to implement this law, the firearm has to be registered (as stipulated in the bill). And, the amount of ammo purchased limited to twice the capacity. According to NY law, the max capacity of a magazine is 10 rounds (but you can only load 7! LOL!). But, we'll go with 10 as the capacity.
So, that means you can only buy 20 rounds of ammo over a 4 month period! LOL! The proposed law is preposterous on its face. IF it passes, it will be inevitably successfully challenged in court.
Just more throwing disarmament spaghetti against the wall to see if it sticks.
So, the only way they could review my Facebook posts (as an example) would be to demand my user ID and password.
I would think this is a violation of the 4th and 5th Amendments. Possibly a 1st and 14th Amendment violation as well.

Of course, we all know that firearms ownership has little to do with hunting. And, the bill fails to stipulate the parameters of the "shooting range test" that must be passed at 90%. Interestingly, the NY state police firearms qualifications test requires only a 70% passing rate.
If they required passing a drug test and mental evaluation for the exercise of Free Speech, Freedom of Assembly, voting, to assert your Right to Privacy, and so on.... it would be deemed unconstitutional immediately. The 2nd Amendment is no different.

I'm suggesting that the law, if passed, could and would be challenged in court on a constitutional basis. I have not suggested I feel "immune" to anything. Anyone who wants to search me up on Google is free to do so. But, I won't volunteer my passwords to anything. Thankfully, I don't live in the un-free nation of New York.

Requiring a million dollars of liability insurance is going to put gun ownership out of reach for everyone except the very wealthy and of course their private security companies.
Limiting ammuniton purchases to either 20 round total or 10 rounds total (remember it's illegal to have more than 10 round pistol magazines or 5 round rifle magazines) per 4 months essentially means no shooting and no way to practice or even to get ammo for the "Test"
Of course the test will be rigged to be much harder than the tests the "King's Men" have to take to make sure citizens can't pass it.
Then you get down to Thought Crime.... YES, FULL ON 1984 style Thought Crime policing.
Not only do they want all your social media but apparently your internet search history (how they plan to get that and from what sources is unclear).
So the "Committee" can just simply block you because they haven't gotten around to looking yet or want to question every thing you have ever searched for.
People need to wake up and see that this is NOT "regulations"
This is a full out ban worded to skirt the constitution since our corrupt, sickening, bought and paid for judiciary absolutely refuses to support the second amendment. Of course watch the judiciary also start refusing to support the first amendment if the "speech" is not "politically correct"
This of course is the same politicians that just got done handing out driver's licenses to every illegal that wants them and blocking the US government from looking at the databases for criminal records.
But in the end the stupid sheep keep voting for this because bread/circuses/feel good/virtue signalling.
There really isn't much hope to fix it until we have some major upheaval or catastrophic event where current society hits the wall at full speed and completely breaks down and the good folks left can hope to right the ship.
It may be possible to fix it at the federal level if we could ever get politicians with integrity, conviction and a love of liberty, because we could just do federal pre-emption of all state laws much like many other things the judiciary is happy to back such as the NFA and all kinds of other Federal restrictions. The courts just don't like freedom.
I somehow doubt it however, I think it's going to have to wait for the full collapse.

I don't have complete faith in the "system," either. But, that doesn't mean I will abandon my knowledge (not to mention my oath to support and defend) the Constitution. It doesn't mean I just throw my hands up and surrender.
There comes a point when we say "we will not comply" and ACT accordingly. That's already happened in many states. To wit... the magazine bans and the bump stock bans. How many have been turned in? ZERO. Freakin' ZERO. Similarly, the "assault weapon" registration laws in NY and CT have been effectively ignored and gone unenforced.
It's called incrementalism. They know that most of us existing right now do not and will not give a fuck about obeying any new anti-gun laws. We are not their targets. Our future generations are. Currently a new generation of potential sportsmen and shooters are growing up or being born and they will think that these drastic laws are completely normal, because they had never experienced a time when things have been more lax. What is new and alien to us will be completely familiar to them. The statists are playing the patience game.

Unfortunately because of the current political demographics(all 3 houses controlled by Democrats) there is little chance to stop legislation.

I am going to respond back to this with the prospect of starting a true to earnest 2nd Amendment Sanctuary movement in the state. If staffed with the right people who can deliver the same unity and resolve as Virginia Patriots have shown in the last few months, the NYSRPA can become our own version of the VCDL. Going to try to stoke some movement into the local gun boards too. Northeast Shooters Forum will be my first stop.

large population of gun owners and sportsmen, all of them proud of their traditions and heritage of keeping their ways of life alive. However, through my interactions with them, I realized that some of them still believe the false notions that the antigunners' attempts to ban so called "assault weapons" are for public safety and crime reduction and that their hunting rifles and traditional defensive pistols will never come under attack. However, we have seen from Virginia, as well as our own state, that the antis absolutely loathe any prospect of an armed citizenry and they will do their best to completely eradicate legal gun ownership. Their incremental efforts to make life as hard as possible for all gun owners have greatly ramped up in the past year and they are now showing no qualms about voicing their true intentions.

same level of solid and unified response that we have seen from our
fellow Patriots in Virginia if we are to regain our footing and stop this incremental attack on our rights as well as the demonization of our culture by the antis and their allies in the mainstream media. If we can unify all of our members and create the infrastructure that had been seen in Virginia, it will be something that I will readily donate large portions of my own financial resources and efforts into. Listening to Power 105.1 FM's morning show about the latest news in the hip hop world yesterday and a couple of commercials aired about how that POS supposedly "helped grow minority owned businesses" or some shit like that.
Nothing short of complete disregard and disobedience for any new attacks on the 2nd Amendment in the state of NY should not and will not be tolerated on my end. If there are others with me than stand up and make yourself known. This call to action has to be public and massive in numbers while resonating throughout the entire state government, media and law enforcement agencies.
This is not to be just a rally, but a direct and uncompromising message of zero compliance broadcast over the news outlets so they fully understand the consequences of passing any legislation.
Form an alliance with as much of the law enforcement community as possible. Most officers get it. They understand that the same laws will affect them when they turn their badges in. We need to be on the same side of the fence here and support one another, donate to their associations and ask for their support in preserving our 2nd Amendment rights.
