I had a Hutch ProRaider on Skyways plus all the normal freestyle add-ons 😎
This was back around 83-86. Before that was a Mongoose Californian.

I built a Hutch Pro Racer about the exact same time. I had about $800 into it at the time. Gave it to a girlfriend's little brother about six years later. That was a mistake.

I have a cool Intense cruiser that sits in my storage trailer.

Not mine but looks just like it pretty much.

I had 3 of my kids into BMX at a local tracks in the state. My oldest son finished 2 years in the top 25 in the state. My youngest at the time, had an all aluminum bike. I don't think he was any older than 8. My daughter was the one that surprised me. Although she wasn't any good, she kept racing and never quit. That was odd for her.

Talk about an expensive hobby. Between equipment, repairs to the bikes, hotels and entry fees for all 3 kids, I needed to have my head examined. But they still talk about it, so I guess it was probably the best money mom and dad could have ever spent.

PK Ripper cruiser is making a comeback.
There's literally 100 of them within a 5 mile radius of here.

I raced BMX from early 1977 into '82.
Was never a points chaser and still never did worse than 6th in the state.
Most of my races were transfer in moto 1 and watch until the final.
Even if I didn't get a good start, the old straightaways allowed me to blast past anyone that might have gotten in front of me. Most races were wire to wire wins.
My mind always goes back to racing and I've gone to the local tracks to watch, but blacktop, clip-ins and flow tracks just aren't the same.
It's disappointing.

Ares256.

Napier Deltic eh? - memories of lots of small bolts on crank covers and a 'barley stick' blower shaft when one unit seized, only ever worked on the RN mine sweeper version. Incredible bits of engineering.

Love the Deltic engine, it has a mean exhaust note in the trains. Two stroke diesel, shit toms of pistons, what’s not to love.
