I am starting to get tired of lubing when resizing. My dad uses these dies and I needed to know why Lee recommends you should not use these dies for hunting situations. My dad ordered the extra mandrel and has and no issues with the bullet staying tight in the case. Are these safe for a bolt action for hunting or should I stay with my RCBS dies and continue to full length size? I will be shooting 95gr Nosler ballistic tips at a velocity of about 2930 if that helps.

Perhaps it's the bullets you're thinking of. Some FMJ type bullets aren't made for hunting. But dies...??? Never heard of it myself. But that doesn't really mean anything.
But if you're loading any bottleneck rifle case it NEEDS lube of some kind.

I use the Lee Collet die in .270. They work well. No lube on brass that is previously fired in my rifle & will rechamber.
"is not recommended for hunting rounds as the case is neck sized only and the bullet is not crimped in case."
I know a lot of guys that preach never crimp a rifle bullet unless absolutely have to. I don't see why you couldn't use a Lee FDC or some other crimp if you wanted to.
The bullets in the .270 I used are locked in tight. No crimp. I wouldn't hesitate to use them hunting. I got 1.188 groups @ 200yds using a starting load and Remington core lokt's. I really didn't expect to get that good of results right out of the gate. I think I could get sub MOA, but .594 had me thrilled.
Rifle is just an off the shelf Weatherby Vanguard bolt action.

I've used the collet dies almost exclusively in my 25-06, for hunting and otherwise, never had any problems after 1,000's of rounds. I'm sure the neck sizing thing is part of why they dont recomend them for hunting.

The reason lee reccomends to full length resize for hunting, is to ensure absolute feeding reliablity. If you just collet size the neck the case body will be untouched, and not all unsized cases fit smoothly when chambering, and can cause excessive noise or time in a stressful hunting situation. I assume you are using a bolt action. If you are using a semi auto, then you most certainly have to full length resize anyways.

use the neck die and you want have any trouble.just don't through a second round in with alot of force.then you might have to push the bullet back out with a cleaning rod.but as long as you make the first shoot really count you should not have to fire a second.
