Anybody got an update on last year's "national coin shortage"?
I was in a gas station on Monday and they still had a sign up stating something along the lines of "exact change is appreciated due to shortage."

I asked about it but the teller wasn't sure what was causing it.

That's the first sign I've seen in a while, though.

There seems to a shortage on everything today......all from covid. rersin, plastics, cardboard and now milk i guess.

Best friends are like old tomatoes and shoelaces.
The group quickly understood that toxic waste was the most effective barrier to use against the zombies.
Everyone was busy, so I went to the movie alone.
I come from a tribe of head-hunters, so I will never need a shrink.
She could hear him in the shower singing with a joy she hoped he'd retain after she delivered the news.
They throw cabbage that turns your brain into emotional baggage.
The lyrics of the song sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard.

If there was anything to it, it was from .gov trying to get people away from using cash.

Wrong, it was an attempt to force more coins out of the public and back into circulation, where they could further reduce the supply.
Face value of coins is far lower than the actual value.
People have been saving coins for a decade now, not just silver.
Yes, its a play on going cashless as well, but coinage has been a money garhole for the Fed for some time.

Really smart guy warned folks this would happen 30 years ago. He put out a bunch of videos as Mike from Michigan. Anyone want to guess his real name? They shut him up, just like he said they would.

Boy, saving coins for a decade to arbitrage against seignorage. Must have mad ones of dollars in profit there.

The only thing there is a shortage of in this world is brains.

Everywhere I go, everything I read seems to be from a bunch of retards. Matter of fact, my nephew is on the spectrum and he makes most of the people look stupid.

I've never seen a bigger group of brain dead morons in my life.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is looking at ways to address supply chain disruptions – from clogged ports to addressing the shortage of truck drivers.

President Joe Biden issued an executive order in February on supply chain issues.

In June, the White House unveiled a Supply Chain Disruptions Task Force led by Buttigieg and the secretaries of Commerce and Agriculture “to provide a whole-of-government response to address near-term supply chain challenges … (and) to diagnose problems and surface solutions—large and small, public or private—that could help alleviate bottlenecks and supply constraints.”

On Thursday, Buttigieg held a virtual roundtable on congestion at the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports that included the Federal Maritime Commission chair, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and other senior U.S. officials to look at ways of reducing congestion at ports.

“For our economy to fully recover, we now need our vital supply chains to operate smoothly and without avoidable congestion,” Buttigieg said.

Approximately 40% of all containerized freight flowing through the United States arrives or departs through Los Angeles and Long Beach ports.

This is the same shit the mob would do when extorting protection money.

The airport serving Nevada’s second largest metro area faces a shortage of jet fuel that could force the cancellation of cargo and passenger fights, potentially restricting the flow of tourists and essential goods into the northern part of the state.

Nevada’s political leaders issued a statement late Saturday pledging to minimize disruption at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and ensure the aerial fight against Western wildfires isn’t hampered. Besides serving Reno, a popular gambling destination, the airport is the nearest passenger terminal to Lake Tahoe.

US GDP falls short as supply-chain disruptions, labor shortages stunt comeback

The U.S. economy grew less than expected in the three months through June as supply-chain disruptions and labor shortages slowed the pace of economic activity while the country reopened from its COVID-19 lockdowns.
"Supply chains are far from getting back to normal, and the story of the COVID-19 pandemic, including variants, is far from being finalized," said Mark Hamrick, senior economic analyst at Bankrate.

Went into O’Reilly Auto Parts... Rubber was pealing off of my wiper blades... Arms are good, just need the rubber insert.... $9.90 / each.... Will be in next week.... Inflation + Shortage..... :(

I went into town again today, second time this week. We have six gas stations, and they were all out of Regular Gas (which includes Mid-Grade), paying $4.50 per gallon for Premium sucks, especially when you don't need the higher grade, but I was running on fumes, and had no choice but to buy it. This is the third time this month that we had gas shortages here. News is reporting that the gas shortages are mostly happening in the big cities.

I'm 20+ miles from a small Town with no Lowes or Home Depot, but we have a small Walmart. To shop elsewhere requires a lot of windshield time. Typically, I have to go to three different places in town to get everything I need. The last couple of months, many things I regularly purchase are not being restocked on the shelves.

Here's a list of things that are hardly, or never in stock. Granted, some of the listed items are brands I prefer over others, so I could go with another brand. However, there are certain items like oil filters, that for some reason, the one type I use has been out of stock for several weeks.

Here's the list of shortages I'm seeing;

Shipping Containers
Gasoline
Oil Filters.
PVC pipe and fittings.
Outlet Boxes.
Good quality lumber (no matter the price).
Bar Soap.
Pepperoni (full sticks).
Sumatra Coffee.
Bottled Sweet Tea with real sugar.
Mountain Dew with real sugar.
Fresh Lettuce.
Wrangler Jeans (regular fit).
Mild Italian sausage.
Beer Brats.
Pringles (original).
Last, but not least... Retumbo.

Buy hey, it's not the end of the world, Walmart had one box of CCI 22 Shorts, a box of 243Win, a couple boxes of 308Win, and about five boxes of 270Win.

A different kind of "Water Shortage".

Climate change, drought and high demand are expected to force the first-ever mandatory cuts to a water supply that 40 million people across the American West depend on — the Colorado River. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation's projection next week will spare cities and tribes but hit Arizona farmers hard.

No shit I went to a Popeyes and they told me they were out of chicken, WTF
this was outside Missoula Montana.

Gonna get worse as China's protein shortage worsens. No, we don't depends upon Chinese exports or anything as simple as that, but we do depend upon imports from other countries, and China's attempts to secure supplies elsewhere will affect us since everything is interconnected.

Buy a cow! (And ammo)
The challenge there is to sustain a cow by growing enough feed on an individual's homestead. Besides growing enough food to sustain a family. When a person can successfully grow a vegetable plant in a 5 gallon bucket they are on their way to gardening.... then homesteading.

Too many people are dependant on the supply chain in order to live a normal and comfortable life. Throw one thing into the mix, like a fuel shortage, and for most people life goes to hell quickly.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Aug. 20, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Conifex Timber Inc. (“Conifex”) (TSX: CFF) announced today that it has made the difficult decision to temporarily curtail lumber production at its Mackenzie, British Columbia sawmill for two weeks commencing August 23, 2021.

“A combination of record high delivered log costs and the unprecedented collapse in lumber prices has necessitated a temporary curtailment for two weeks. We regret the impact this may have on our employees, their families and the community,” said Ken Shields, Chairman and CEO.

That's what you get for living in bumfuckegypt

Went to Home Depot looking for corner protectors (plastic edging for doorways). The web page said they had plenty. Got there and the shelf was empty. Got a saleswoman and she said she knew they were out. I asked why not update the inventory list. She said that's not her job. I asked if she's going to order them. She said the main office sent out a directive denying them the ability to purchase "all plastics", whatever that means.

I walked out of the aisle yelling "that's why people buy from Amazon" and I left my cart (with many items in it) and left the store.

A shortage on beer ? Oh heavens no , the world is coming to an end pack it in and call it adieu . Life is just not worth living with out cold beer on a hot summers night after a long days work only to come home and hear even more yelling . I wonder if the lack of beer will coincide with a huge uptick in spouses being abused ? Oh the horror fish falling from the sky with cats and dogs and water turned into rivers of blood , locust destroying crops these truly are the end times . No more hot dogs and beer at the ball games spits on floor . lol well at least there is still air.

I understand. The term I have coined is "sprinkling" commodities across America to different retailers (brick and mortar / Internet sales). Suppliers are sending supplies where they can get the largest return on investment ($$$). They are avoiding another "toilet paper shortage" dilemma.. Amazon passes increases on immediately where Home Depot probably bought supplies on the "futures market" with far out delivery dates.

Just an opinion
