I’ve been out of the AR scene for a few years now. I’m needing a 13.7” barrel for a rifle I’m wanting to build. Cost isn’t really a factor. What are some current options? Brands? Properly sized gas port would be nice.

Thanks,

I've seen some Noveske in 13.7" at midway and primary arms recently iirc. I can't remember whether they were switchblock or pinned fsb.

Buy you whatever blank you want and have a smith turn it out exactly how you want it, if money is not an issue.

Compass lake engineering
White oak armament
Both will turn custom Barrels
Criterion offers a 13.9

SOLGW and Triarc make 13.7 barrels for more of a “combat” application. They are both gassed well and work good with suppressors.

FYI, SOLGW uses BA barrels

I've got a Rosco 13.7 that surprisingly shoots lights out. Consistently 3/4 moa or under with a generic 77gr load and moa or a little better with my 55gr load. I've had it to 800 yards with a 70% hit ratio on a 16" plate in moderate wind. Way more barrel than I was expecting for the price.

This. I have a triarc 12.5 Midlength gas with Vltor A5 and a Surefire RC2 and it's a BB gun.

<18" barrel or <26" overall = pistol, NOT rifle for all the alphabets watching...

He is asking after a pistol barrel for his PISTOL REGISTERED lower, only.

That is all.

Are you using an adjustable gas block or no? I’ll be suppressed with the Vltor A5 setup and mid length gas. Hoping it’s BB gun-ish with 62gr Xtac.

No adjustable gas block, it's the standard lo-pro one. I'm also using a Radian SD charging handle to deal with some of the gas coming back. It should be noted that my support hand has a fair amount of carbon on it after shooting; I'm pretty sure it's coming out of the back of the can (I'm using a SF 3 prong FH, will probably switch to a MB since this will be suppressed probably 90% of the time).

I bought a 13.7" Ballistic Advantage barrel from primary arms. Came with a tight fitting, low profile gas block. It actually shoots very well. Pinned and welded a Keymo brake adapter to get to 16" and bought an SLR fore-end to just clear the threads. Really happy with it.

ETA: apologies, it's a 13.9" which is required for the Keymo brake to get to 16". 2.6" brake, losing .5" for barrel threads. It's the Hanson profile. Pretty slick, like it's made for this application with the Keymo

After some thought, I realized I was going to need a 13.9 vs a 13.7 in order to have enough threads clear the end of the Geissele MK14 13.5" rail Im going to be using. I like your rifle setup. Now to find a 13.9 in stock somewhere......

Yeah Primary Arms is quite a bit cheaper than BA it seems

I have heard the Triarc barrels are really nice, Never heard a bad thing about them.

Do you recall how long your rail is?
