Have a place to rally at with your family. A place where everyone can go when SHTF. A primary have a bugout location as well.
Food is cheap now, stack it to the ceiling.
Radios, batteries, way to recharge electrical devices. Solar.
Weapons. Ammo. Spares. Have BBQs with your Tribe and everyone practice shooting.
Temp shelter. Water purification.
List goes one...
Remember 2 things that will get you after the TEOTWAWKI Starvation and People behaving badly.

Started reading the first. Entertaining I guess. The writer doesn't know shit about guns though. He has used a few but is no professional. That becomes pretty painfully obvious.

i would like to say I'm prepared. but how prepared will we need to actually be will never be known i'm sure. i have a "plan" but pray i never have to use it. i would gather as much "necessities" as possible and haul ass to my best friends farm. i would strap the wife and kids and go jason statham on their asses until my life got snatched.

Regarding “plans;” I think a boxer once said that, “Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the face.”
Planning is good but it is essential to have the correct plan for the correct scenario, which I don’t think anyone of us could accurately predict.
IMHO a lot of us overlook the concept of hiding in plain sight.
I ran across this video this morning. I’ve always laughed at the fat guy who said that he’d head for the hills when the SHTF.
As this gentleman points out, very rarely can the best of us survive long term without serious ramifications and consequences.
IMHO I think preparing for long term survival should be a collective effort among like minded people with an eclectic set of skill sets.
What is puzzling to me is the vast array of social media groups of preppers that want to hide from the government’s prying eyes. Yet they put themselves on social media for all to see.

Considering that literally, no one 'bugged out' or go to use that ammo stash of his in anger in last 100 years or so in US , what makes folks think that they should be 'prepping' for 'bugging out, whatever they mean by that term.

Good watch. He didnt touch on the fact that there are very few 'lone wolves',, wolves tend to run in packs fro the very reason of survival. They dont tend to live very long in the wild. Worms and other ailments tend to get them. Break your leg in the wild and your chance of survival drop to zilch.

I am not worried about any of the government alphabet agencies....
They are not coming to confiscate, arrest, harass, or help anyone in a true SHTF situation. They will be in their own homes protecting their own families.

Quality footwear and clothing items are as important as your foodstuffs. No loud colors, no swishing, no crinkling.

Generally the above actions are the desperate last tries before starvation and collapse.
The soviet union would have collapsed from starvation and death much earlier if the west hadn't sold them food.
Had there been a full on trade embargo where nothing was allowed to be bought and sold, it would have been over much quicker.
North Korea for example has to some years literally give the soldiers time off to go try looting the countryside for food, and that's with still being able to buy a bit of food from other countries.
You steal all the farmer's land... sure... but you best have somebody that knows how to work it ready to go.
Military / Police decide to play goons, and go kill, steal and loot from the citizens, sure they will eat for now, then what?
You killed the farmer and their family and grabbed a bunch of on the hoof cattle, now what you going to do with them?
How long before most of what you killed for is spoiled because you can't process it, store it, preserve it, distribute it?
Very quickly you collapse into famine and starvation.

Plastic works. I guess I just forgot it. I prefer wooden dishes over plastic dishes. However, it needs to be heavy plastic. The important point is to have durable items to eat and drink out of, that can withstand travel and not being babied.

Training could be back country trauma first aid training, could be a Master Gardener class, short wave radio training, training on tearing down a Stihl chainsaw and getting it running again (chain sharpening), auto mechanics, lock smith training, carpentry....
