    Catching primers

    Good idea, MJY65. I did a similar mod with a straw and it works ok. Still one of the worst primer catch systems out there.

    That is just the nature of the beast. Floating firing pin taps the primer when the bolt slams forward. Won't hurt anything, that is why hard cupped primers are recommended for semi-autos

    Funny I had a Vietnam vet tell me that "their rifles could fire our ammo but our rifles couldn't fire theirs". I respectfully nodded and said "Oh that's interesting". He's a good guy just got misinformed somewhere.
