285gr Hornady bthp in .338 Lapua Magnum

Re: 285gr Hornady bthp - Powder Charge HELP! OK - I need more help. I've now fired the Hornady 285gr BTHP, using 82gr AR2225, producing 2400fps out of my 26.5" TRG44. There are no pressure signs on the headstamp or primer. The velocity looks rather pedestrian, and I needed to use my 6th...

Is this too much into the lands??

Re: Is this too much into the lands?? So long as the bolt closes and locks with the same amount of force (as a shorter round) then you should be ok. With vld's you might need to single feed them as the proper seating Dept my be longer than your mag length. With seated on the lands watch for...

285gr Hornady bthp in .338 Lapua Magnum

Re: 285gr Hornady bthp in .338 Lapua Magnum Thanks gpowers for the int. My Trg44 mag max length seems to be 3.740, however the bullet could be seated much further out (3.764") so i will need to sinle feed each one. I will start with 80gr of ADI 2225, which is similar to reloader 25.

Re: 285gr Hornady bthp in .338 Lapua Magnum Does anyone know why the new Hornady AMP (advanced manufacturing process) is better than the standard process? Or, are all new Hornady pills AMP now?

Rifle Scopes Help needed to buy Schmidt & Bender outside USA

Re: Help needed to buy Schmidt & Bender outside USA Looking for a 5-25 x 56 PM2 with P4fine in MRad double turn turret. Not too worried about illuminated +hair, though my other S&B scope has this, and mainly want to keep same reticle. I've looked at opticsplanet and EuroOptic but they have...

Rifle Scopes Help needed to buy Schmidt & Bender outside USA

Hi All, I just love S&B scopes. If I could buy from Euro Optic then I would, but alas, these and other 'reticle' scopes are not allowed to be exported from the USA. Does anyone know of an online wholesaler (outside USA) that will allow sales to New Zealand? Over here a 5-25 PM2 is around...
