223 55grain bullet suggestions
I use H335 for 40, 55, 63, 64, and 65 gr bullets. Excellent accuracy. But before I ran out of A2230, it was super accurate with 65 gr Sierra GKs.- 603Country

Nikon Range Finders? Are they junk or ok?
I used a Nikon 600 RF for quite a few years. It would range a deer, coyote, or pig to 400 yards. Not 420, but 400. Might have got 405 once or twice. Other than the distance limitation, it worked great. I could range a shiny truck or road sign to 800 yards, but that didn’t help much with...- 603Country

Leupold CDS Ballistics Dials
I’ve used them to 400 yards with my 260. Dead hog. To 300 on a deer or two, successfully, and about that far on one coyote. Haven’t tried it further than that. I’ll repeat what I said earlier. The bullets I loaded for my AR were well within magazine length and some of them had the bullets jammed back into the case. Re: Choosing scope. Fixed vs Variable. I think you said you weren't going to hunt with the rifle, but that is more of a hunting rifle than anything else. I'd put a Leupold VX3 4.5-14 with the varmint hunter reticle on it if you do consider hunting with it.- 603Country
