Do I need a 700 in my arsenal.

The only reason I can see for a R700 with all the options available today is if you are building an M40 or M24 clone. That's what I did and its the only reason I own one. Even kept the OEM trigger. I thought the M700 was the pinnacle of bolt action rifles because of the venerable old M40A1...

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

The Winchester ASL magazine tube should work just fine in the SPR. All later hinged floorplate SPRs and SPR-A3G came with the stainless ASLS. Other than the material, they should be the same magazine tube. Do you have the floorplate assembly, follower and spring?

The SPR-A5M XP was launched in 2014. The SPR-XP added the tactical bolt knob, threaded muzzle and increased twist rate to 1:10" in the .308 to the A5Ms only.

Anyone have a source for FN SPR action screws?

Looking at what MGW does have, I would at least try the U354912910: its a hex head, almost as long but stainless. Second choice would be the U354912690, the Quadrex head might take square drive, its slightly longer and likely blued. At least these would get you going again. AG

    SCAR 17 6.5 Creedmoor

FN is now offering the 6.5CM for SCAR 17S only as accessory barrels: 16" and 20". Last year they ran a limited run of SCAR 17S in a DMR configuration with the 16" 6.5CM barrel, SSR rear stock from the 20S and a Geissele trigger. The 6.5CM barrels come with a new bolt and small diameter firing...

    FN SPR Trigger options

All, Apologies for the delayed response and calls for an answer on the bolt question. I have been unable to log into my SH account for a while now. Anyway, I was able to provide 4clicksoff a Winchester part number that should work, and MGW shows it in inventory. He should be squared away...

    FNH SPR Action

SPRs will not accept optical rails made specifically for the Model 70. The two receivers are different in this regard. Order a rail specifically for the FN SPR and it should be fine. SPRs used essentially a Winchester WSM action but with differences in the rear receiver bridge profile...

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

This part should not impact anything during firing or dry fire. The firing pin shoulder should act as the stop when dry firing. The part that broke here is the cam that interacts with the bolt body cam slot: cocks the firing pin/striker when the bolt is opened. You can see the relationship...

    FN SPR questions

On second look at the picture, it does look like debris, not part of the ejector. Is it still there after your second trip to the range? Maybe you can pry it off or remove it with a pick.

That is the back of the ejector, near where its pin is located. Behind this is the spring that powers it. If you look into the receiver and just behind the ejector where it is damaged, you should see the spring partially visible beneath and behind it. I you pull the barreled action out of...

    FN SPR questions

I would pull the rifle out of the stock and remove the extractor in order to clean up the top portion of the rear of it. If it is causing binding on bolt open, something is wrong with it. Removing a little with a file could fix the problem, but a new ejector should as well. AG

That is the rear of the ejector. It appears to be protruding into the bolt raceway, causing interference. It should stay below flush in this area. AG
