    Help me accurize my 6920

Put on that free float handguard, (pay an expert to do it) and spend 200 for a high quality trigger set around 3-5 lbs. Those two things made my factory 6920 shoot amazing with factory barrel etc. Start there, you will change more later. That's the fun of an AR rifle. Like Leggos for big guys.

    Suggest a waterproof/windproof hat?

2nd the Filson. Have the "waterfowlers" cap, or something like that. It's heavy waxed canvas lined with real wool, and can be configured a couple of different ways. Wear mine all the time. Very water resistant. Can be re-coated with wax after ten years or so...

    Bull Titanium watches

I've been using/recommending/gifting, "Bertucci" titanium watches the last 5-6 yrs or so. Solid, simple, wrist-o-clock for about 150 clams. Worth a look.

Hunting & Fishing 223/5.56 for deer. Who here does it !

Nosler partitions and Barnes X-bullets have killed a large # of caribou for me over the last 20 yrs. (55-60 grains) Barnes penetrated better through the heavy bone and lost virtually no weight. I never lost an animal shot w either bullet, and nearly all were DRT. I do limit my shots to about 250...

    Gunsmithing Bedding Remington Plastic Stocks

Re: Bedding Remington Plastic Stocks Just for practice, I bedded my Remy M7 plastic junker with acraglass from Brownells with the included fiberglass fibers. Just roughed it with sandpaper 1st. No question it stuck permanent, I have hunted it hard for 7-8 yrs, and this little .308 mtn rifle...

    starting load ??/ Rem 700 R5 .223

Does anyone have a couple of pet loads that work well in the R5. The mailman is bringing me one real soon. Will be my first .223, have reloaded for years, but mostly bigger stuff. Will be using for large varmints and just paper...thanks.
