Remington 700 ADL modifications
I have a 700 ADL, in 270. I have noticed that the barrel does heat up fairly quickly. Either that causes my shots to spread out a bit after 20 rounds or so, or it is just me forgetting how to shoot after sending a few downrange. There are some basic how-to videos on both Brownell's and Midway. I have only worked with synthetic stocks, but the process should be similar with an aluminum block. The prep work may be a little more involved though.- angrymustache

Range Report Realistic expectations of Rem 700 BDL
I picked up a walmart grade ADL in 270 a little bit ago. Out of the box I was able to get about 1.75" @100 yards with ammo it seemed to like (as compared to the rounds that did much worse). The Wallyworld 700
I'm using a similar set up as a project/learning rifle. The stock certainly sucks, and the sporter profile barrel doesn't help, either. Where should I look for the cause of the f$S%* Flyer!!!
My guess would be either differences with the way the ammo is loaded, or with the shooter. You say you can occasionally get a 'clean' group, I am assuming that means one without a flier. That would tell me the rifle is capable enough, and the majority of the rounds consistent enough. Are you...- angrymustache
