    Great conversation, we shoot 6.5 CM and PRC at a mile a few times a year with a fair level of success and one trip I had a good run with my 243 when conditions were good.

    Yeah, I wouldn’t, Scenars are on the harder side and need more speed, a 90 grain ballistic tip or even an 87 V max would be a much better choice.

    I could see it on the hip of some bloke in Africa with a fancy double rifle a hundred years ago. Edited to add those pukka old poms didn’t carry their own guns, that was the job of a blackboy, and the blackboys weren’t trusted with ammo.

    The aluminum lug is fine as long as the screws are kept tight, they will only deform if the screws are loose and the action is free to move around
