    I never had an At-X model but the AT-XC still feels stout on the bolt lift vs other actions. That said- I really am not bothered by it- use your cheek pressure on the stock etc. to run the action without disturbing the gun

    In my case- bought a used Proof barrel from the Px here. Kinda blows my mind more mfg don't have ready-to-order barrels in the 16-20" varieties for hunters. Not everyone wants a 24"+ for everything these days, it is time MFG's realize this. And like how hard is it for Proof and Bartlein to offer...

    My google-fu was weak, "shortest barrel at-xc" wasn't returning much other than the manual answer of 20". I'm happy to report that 18" works great (thanks to White Mamba for the barrel in the Px)
