Re: savage model 99 I have a Savage 99c in 308. I too want to scope it. I have looked at leupold's website and they show a Quick release system with one piece base. That is the route I am going. That way I can use Irons or scope. I have a Remmy 760 pump in 308 set up the same way. Good luck...
