I have both the Gen 1 Ultra 9 and Gen 2 338 Ultra SR and it's not even close. It's really not even a comparison, it's way quieter. But that's not the reason why I got the Gen 2 Ultra. I need something that can suppress bigger magnums. I am sure the Ultra 9 could probably suppress the 300NM...

To me, that would be too slow. I use N565 on the heavies on a 300WM. N550 or N555 would probably work better if you are looking into the 5 series N powders.

You talking about the ATX? I have probably over 10k rounds through my AW and MC and have never had a single magazine issue. Not saying that it's impossible for them to have any issues. But to drill into your rifle to use a way inferior magazine is asinine.

I'd still take a double stack AW style mag over any AICS mag any day of the week. It feeds smoother, way easier to load, lower profile, can load bullets way longer, doesn't sound like a cheap ass magazine when you are cycling the gun.
