Night Vision Any Regrets w your purchases?

No regrets with the following... *DTNVS w/com-spec tubes from NGI/TNVC *TNVC mil-spec PVS14 *MAWL C1+ *Ops Core FAST SF Ballistic *Team Wendy CF Bump The "I want" part of my brain wishes I would have gotten mil spec tubes in the DTs but their performance in field use and during Greenline's Night...

    Seating Pressure / Neck Tension

I'd probably first see if a mandrel pass either makes it go away...or not. It will likely take a brass problem off the table.

And it's beefy enough to still see what you're doing under NV. How could you not love it?

    Zero press

For me I wasn't looking for better ammo so much a a better way to make it. Loading 2 different calibers with single stage precision is a major hassle. You can switch operations in under a minute and the turret locks so tight it's like a part of the body. I NEVER touch my dies once set up...

Trouble finding the lands two different methods with wildly different results²

Not my theory. One of the top PRS gunsmiths in the country showed me in person how this happens with the SAAMI blueprint sitting on the bench. It doesn't have to be crooked. Normal bullet diameter runout variation can cause it in a tight chamber. Hornady 140s do it in mine. They shoot...

Trouble finding the lands two different methods with wildly different results²

Depending on your chamber, your wildly different measurements suggested by the short measurement... you're likely touching the start of the freebore diameter, not the lands. Push the bullet past that point (wiggle it) and you'll feel it jump forward and stop again. That 2nd stop is the lands...

Found a good node at like 40.9gr of XBR but was busy prepping a 6.5 load for a match and haven't tested seating depth yet.

I just did up a load with 140 ELDs that's stupid good. Surprised actually as I've never had great results with Hornady.

Just finished this load: Norma brass Remington LRP 44.5gr Staball 140 ELDM @ .020 jump 26" barrel The upper node is a full grain over Max book value with no pressure signs or powder compression. Had a slight right to left at 1k but you can see the vertical spread is stellar. On the smaller...

    .308 Winchester

I don't doubt you. If we all knew exactly why certain components don't work for some we be in business making magic bullets. My experience with Hornady is factory 6.5cm and that shit is one hole ammunition out of my match gun, but in the past their lot to lot consistency has been less than...

    .308 Winchester

I've never quite heard that opinion. I think if I can't shoot any of these particular bullets well, I won't be blaming the bullet. That said, I'm not yet convinced I'll stick with the 168's. This was more of a test load to get my loading skills back up to speed with limited component...

    .308 Winchester

As good as the results are I wouldn't use that powder again. I think I could achieve similar results with a more temp stable powder. Speed was all over the map because of the wild temperature swings this time of year so it forced me to rely too much on instinct rather than data. This was all...
