    6gt

Precisely. I'm using a comparator on the case shoulder. The factory brass that I measured was about 1.407" (this is clearly just a reference measurement relevant to my measuring system only). I don't have any more new brass to measure to double-check this. Most once-fired brass is in the...

Just ejector marks I won't go .236" on my next barrel.... it was a case of taking what happened to be in stock.

    6gt

I'm shooting an 18" 1:8" twist Brux barrel with .236" bore. I'm bumping shoulders about 0.002" but it's hard to say precisely as it appears that the brass has fire-formed various amounts since new. The max I've measured is about 0.008" shorter on a new case vs a 1x fired case. I've shot...

    6gt

I am getting sporadic ejector marks on my brass with loads that are under the Hodgdon book max. No carbon ring (checked with borescope) Alpha brass - 1x fired. Read somewhere this is normal with Alpha brass. Anyone else seen this?

    ELDM lot-to-lot variation

I'm shooting the 108gr ELDM from a 6mmGT in a Brux barrel. I tested loads with one particular box to check if my barrel liked the bullet - shot 3x 10rd groups around 0.5-.0.6 MOA group size (0.05 - .06MRAD mean radius). Seemed all good, so I purchased 1000 bullets of a different production lot...

    223/for distance

Aside from the difficulty of getting consistent velocities with .223, and the lower impact signature, the 88s or 85.5s should be in the ballpark of being reasonably competitive with the 6mms, with some serious advantages in recoil & cost. I'll probably try a barrel set up for 88s when my current...

Anyone have any real experience with this? Any issues? Looks like a potentially good option in the lightweight FFP category, if it works well.

    One-Day Range Load Development

the takeaway is - stop trying to optimise with invalid tests. Decide what you require, test if you have it, move on and use it.

    One-Day Range Load Development

I don't give a toss about which load is "the best" , I just want a load that "meets requirements"
