Range Report Excessive elevation adjustment to zero?

Re: Excessive elevation adjustment to zero? My first reaction was to consider getting a QD canted base... but I do like my GG&G, and I already own it... shame to not use it. According to Shooter, I should only need 1.5 mrad to zero it... I guess maybe my rail is 0.12 degrees out of parallel...

Range Report Excessive elevation adjustment to zero?

Re: Excessive elevation adjustment to zero? Before shooting, I checked top-to-bottom adjustment range to check it against the specification. I then set it to halfway between the "top" and "bottom" to get it on paper. I measured almost 20 mrad of total adjustment (at the zeroed windage), so...

Range Report Excessive elevation adjustment to zero?

Re: Excessive elevation adjustment to zero? Windage was within a few tenths of mechanical zero. I understand that if I dial extreme windage, my total elevation adjustment range would decrease. What I'm commenting on is that I used more elevation adjustment to reach 100yd than I expected.

Range Report Excessive elevation adjustment to zero?

I finally got my Viper PST mounted on my .308 AR. After clearing up a few random minor issues, I proceeded to zero it in at 100yd. When I had successfully zeroed in at 100, I was disappointed to see that out of 19mrad of total elevation adjustment (which I had checked on my particular scope...

    CFE 223 Powder from Hodgdon

Re: CFE 223 Powder from Hodgdon Well I went to the range today to try out the 175s and refine my .22-250 load... 55deg F, sunny, 10-15mph wind from 1 or 2 o'clock. I started out with the 175s, and they were all over the place. 6" 'groups' at 100 yd. I was stumped and disappointed. I...

    Range Report Harmonic Resonance test.

Re: Harmonic Resonance test. Hate to keep beating this question to death, but can you post a pic of the brake? Just wondering how gas port design might play into the POI shift... Maybe a couple more people (myself included) could do similar tests with different brake designs and see? I bet...

    CFE 223 Powder from Hodgdon

Re: CFE 223 Powder from Hodgdon Went to the range last weekend with my 26" 1:9 .22-250. I loaded 3 shot groups with 52gr Amax pills across a range of charges. Charge weights were from 5% under max to 2% over. Good consistent POI from 38.4 - 38.6 - 38.8gr. I also saw a fantastic group at...

    CFE 223 Powder from Hodgdon

Re: CFE 223 Powder from Hodgdon Very interested in this. I was going to try 2000MR for some loads, but maybe I should try this instead... Can't wait to see how it performs in an 18" barrel.

Slash buffer or Vltor A5 tube

Re: Slash buffer or Vltor A5 tube @ORD, I was blindly repeating the items mentioned in the previous response, not thinking about the UBR-specific tube issues. For other stocks which are the more "standard" or "common" type of stock (ACS, CTR, IMod, EMod, etc) which just slide back and...

Slash buffer or Vltor A5 tube

Re: Slash buffer or Vltor A5 tube First off... The "ability" to change stocks from LMT - UBR - whatever else has crap to do with the slash buffer. Whatever piece of rubber and plastic you slide over the outside of the receiver extension has nothing to do with function of the weapon. Either...
