New guy with a setup question.
I have a offer to trade it for two different 30-06 one a winchester m70 with aetec 3-9x40 or a rem 700 with the factory mounted scope. Will a long action serve the purpose. I see a lot of short action builds but not as many long action.- Big Un

Thanks I took the ruger in on a trade as a side item. I have $100 in it so it will not hurt my feelings. I am looking into a 260 rem or a 308. I will be able to pick exactly what I want when I sale this one off.- Big Un

I am looking to build a long range target gun. Mostly out to 6-700 yards with the occasional 1000 yard shot. I will be shooting paper or steel plates.
