Re: How much of a difference in a stripped lower? I think as long as you stick with a reputable company u should be okay. Just pick whatever logo you like on the magwell.
Re: Surefire Brake. I heard by the end of the year for the SOCOM gear Duffy. I could be wrong but thats what I hear. I'm waiting on one as well as one for the 556. Check with member Rangewalker71. He has the SOCOM's in stock

Re: muzzle brake I agree with all of the statements above. I personally prefer the Surefire brakes not only for their effectiveness BUT also for the ability to mount a suppressor. Like Bryan240 said tho...you wont have many fans on the firing line cause of the concussive blast.
