Spectergear.com. Simple and to the point. Plenty of variety if you need something specific. I've got two and I very happy with them for the price. They work like they're supposed to. B
E-file March 28th, '14. Stamp in at dealer July 18th, '14. 3 1/2 months. In hand 7/21/14. It's a good day. I started working on this project in may of 2013. B
Update: It's taken a little while to post but I got the LMT lower with the single stage trigger. Overall it's very nice. I've got to hand it to those guys. They build a pretty tight unit. There is no buyers remorse here. I know I could have gone cheaper but I'm very happy with this for the...
It doesn't sound like you're messed up in your understanding at all. You have it correct. The body die doesn't do anything to the neck at all. Someone might want to use a separate body die and neck die, possibly because of a custom chambering or the like. There isn't any reason for most to...
Milt Sparks 55BN-C. It'll carry my TRP comfortably all day. It reholters well and has a good draw once broken in a little bit. Despite the high ride and open top it seems to hold the pistol very securely. Mine is the cow hide version. It doesn't have any fancy tooling on it. I'm not sure...
After trying to reinvent the wheel I settled on the Zediker recommendations. I should have just done that in the first place. The 168gr. SMK over 41.5 of H4895 just works for me. The only big deviation is that I use a CCI No. 34 primer. B
I've got the RM06. Pretty happy with it so far, had it for a couple of years now. It's been offset mounted on a rifle and on my Buckmark. Currently its on my M4. I'm not sure it's worth the money but it is a nice piece. B
It's hard to say how much of the market would be interested, but I would. Savage only offers the action I'd want in the LRP and BA rifles. Despite the model designation difference, 12 for the LRP, and 10 for the BA, they are the same. These are the blued version of the now discontinued...
Who doesn't like to save a buck or two. This subject comes up every now and then. Last time I remember somebody said that the cheap tool bags from Home Depot work pretty well. My experience; leaving the range one day and my thrifty nifty range bag/tool bag/gym bag split down the seam...
I say go with the LRP. Of course, I'm biased. I've got the stainless version of that same receiver. The old LRPV repeater. The LRP is the best one Savage has to offer IMHO. It currently has a 223AI barrel on it now but I can swap out with my 260AI barrel. B
Here is what my records show. Berger 140gr. VLD (target) 2.983" Berger 140gr. Hyb. 3.017" Berger 140gr. BT LR 3.075" These numbers illustrate the difference in max. OAL to the lands for my 260 AI. So, it looks like the difference you're seeing matches up...
One of my best 308 bolt rifle loads is 48.2 gr. 8208 XBR and a 125gr. Speer TNT. Mind you, this is out of a 30" 12 twist barrel but it's my best for under 300 yds. It's a little on the quick side for bullets over the 155's IMHO. B
Thanks for the input everybody. I went ahead and ordered an LMT lower. It should be here in about a week. As far as the trigger goes, I'll get another SSA-E for it and swap out the single stage. The Geissele has served me well and I like the feel. Might as well go with what ya know. I...
Brvheart, Not that I want to get into a brand vs. brand argument, but here is some insight into the Savage thing. The difference between the Savage 10's and the 12 LRP is night and day. I written this before and I'll try to sum it up simply. The are basically three different Savage...
