Decision 6.5 Grendel vs. 6.5 Creedmoor

That is something to think about. I could get a relatively cheap factory bolt gun that is just as accurate for probably about the same price. Thanks for throwing cold water on my dreams! :P

corym468, Thanks for your reply and information.

Decision 6.5 Grendel vs. 6.5 Creedmoor

I maybe should have put this out there, I'm not a hunter. I'm just into hitting steel or punching paper. I'm not against hunting by any means but it's just not my cup of tea. From what I'm reading the Grendel will get me to 1k and maybe to 1200 if I really push it but it's a close call. I think...

Decision 6.5 Grendel vs. 6.5 Creedmoor

The overall economy of the Grendel is what is drawing me to it. I'd like to go to a mile but the more I investigate the more I think that's a few years down the road. A Grendel upper is an easy buy relatively soon. So now the question is who makes the best Grendel uppers?

Decision 6.5 Grendel vs. 6.5 Creedmoor

The range I shoot at goes to 1200 yards with rumors that we will have 1 mile soon. Currently I only have a .223/5.56 rifle. My question is do I take the cheap route and get a Grendel upper and utilize my existing lower or do I go all out and get a full Creedmoor rifle? Is a mile out of reach for...

LWRC REPR VS Larue PredatOBR 7.62

Just to be clear, if it wasn't from my post, I was discounting that story as unreliable.

LWRC REPR VS Larue PredatOBR 7.62

I've looked for your resume on this and can't find it. If you would deign yourself to enlighten us it would be appreciated. I'm also curious what you consider pros and cons for LWRC or is it all piston AR type guns in general?

LWRC REPR VS Larue PredatOBR 7.62

I can attest that my M6A2 SPR only likes certain bullets. Bulk stuff is iffy. 55 grain PMC brass .223 will run about 1.5 MOA. 55 grain Independence and Tula will only shoot about 3 MOA. I've got to go to 77 grain SMKs from Black Hills in their .223 loading to get sub MOA. I've not tried or found...

LWRC REPR VS Larue PredatOBR 7.62

They are obscure government agencies and PMCs but I've seen plenty of pictures and know someone that used one in Afghanistan. Anecdotal evidence granted but my friend had no problems with his in many gun fights and neither did anyone that he knew using one. That is your opinion, for which...

LWRC REPR VS Larue PredatOBR 7.62

    A) Just because a rifle is not adopted by a military at large does not mean it isn't battle tested. There are plenty LWRC rifles seeing real action. B) The sale to Colt was a rumor that turned out not to be true it seems. If a deal is in the works it hasn't happened yet and the rumored sale...

M14 craving - wanting to build the ultimate sub-moa M14.

I've seen a guy on M14 Forum with a JAE stock in an LRB M25 that has 3 shots at 100 yards that can fit under a dime. Might have been a one time thing but it was impressive none the less. Of course he had almost $6k into the gun alone and I hate to think how many hours tuning it and working up...

M14 craving - wanting to build the ultimate sub-moa M14.

Call LRB up and get a M25 barreled action built, call J. Allen and get a JAE-100, (I hear waits on both products are about 6-12 months so order at the same time) and then have John Wolfe or Art Luppino put it together for you and tune it. Hit up m14forum.com as well. Both of those guys are...

    6.5 Grendel Cerakote Multicam

You did it yourself? I bet it was painful. Gorgeous rifle though!

LWRC REPR VS Larue PredatOBR 7.62

LWRC M6A2 SPR owner here. Mine shoots sub MOA as long as I'm feeding it 77 grain SMKs. I wouldn't let the piston haters and people remembering drama from years ago in LWRC worry you too much. I go by first hand experience and that tells me that every LWRC I've seen has been an accurate and...

Anyone ever get 'Meh' results with Black Hills 77gr OTM Mk262?

Shooting SSA 77 gr SMK and I get similar results. The BH 77s shoot really nice for me in my LWRC SPR. Funny thing though the Hornady 75 grain Superformance shoot like utter crap. PMC 55gr does better.
