Re: Budget scopes Yeah, I can't risk a 10x on a possible running doe at 60yrds. My range is smasher between 40yrds, and 375. I need to hit that doe at 60, yet count a rack up to 400. Bushnell is awesome, I have one on both my .270, and 7mag. I can't buy used... I refuse to kill something...

I find myself with a tight budget. I'm looking to scope my soon to be new budget rifle with something capable. I demand accurate w/e adjustments and a true zero hold. I'm very interested in the bdc reticles, but a dot or plex would be ok too. I do not want an ir scope at what I'm willing to...

Re: Key to accuracy? Based on my bolt design it would be spring pressure exerted on the rear of the case. I'm not going to get into specifics, but it does involve more moving parts. Which is a definite drawback.

Are there any accuracy reports for these rifles? I would love to complete my Marlin wall, but refuse to hang a "turd" next to my babies. Heck, I want to shoot it a few too!

Re: What is a good visual reactive target for rifles? If I were going for effect, I would pick either frozen small watermelon's or that crap that blows up when shot. Always wanted to see how that stuff works. I have no need to use it, unfortunately. Or, you could set up some dyed water filled...

Re: Key to accuracy? Turbo, I like, 2,3,8,9,11,12! I would add pre existing barrel thread/nut design to those also. Savage style maybe? Kraig, I agree %100. My hunting rifle is a pressed barrel rem 710. I have a three shot "one hole" group with that stock! Shows my opinion on a system...

Re: Key to accuracy? True, a combination of quality parts is a key to accuracy. I'm speaking more in the terms of instead of buying a 700 action to build off of, build the action and bolt yourself of your own design type of accuracy.
