Not talking about filling it with Loctite, but putting a small dab on top of it and glueing a tie wire or small diameter Allen key to the broken piece so I can pull on it. I could also use super glue instead of Loctite, or any quick setting glue
Well the gas block is still on the gun so I can shoot it all I want. And have shot it hoping the ball would fall out from recoil but it didn’t. I don’t think there is a pocket. I can get the ball to move back and forth pretty easy and it broke pretty quickly, I didn’t apply a ton of torque...
Perhaps ZCO can weigh in….but IIRC mine came out of the box with 35mils Up Elevation. But I still don’t understand how a 55moa base loses travel from the scope? This reminds me of Billy Maddison in the decathlon. “Everyone is now dumber from hearing your explanation…may god have mercy on your...
I tried that with a dab of 5-minute epoxy but couldnt keep it from also squishing onto the screw as well so I didn’t let it set. But super glue isn’t as thick so maybe I can get it to stay in place a little better. I’ll try that tomorrow. Do you think it would be better to try it with a needle...
What do you mean can I replace the screw? I can’t get it out of the gas block. The Allen key broke before I got the screw out and with that piece in it, I can’t get another Allen key in it to remove the screw. And it’s a set screw so I can’t put vise grips on the head or cut a slot into it...
Anyone have suggestions on how to remove a broke. Allen key from inside a Gas Block set screw? I Stupidly tried to remove my gas block with a Ball End Hex Key and the Ball broke off inside the screw. I have gotten the ball “un-stuck” to where it will move around inside the screw, rotates back...
If I hadn’t stocked up on barrels when Covid first hit I probably would consider it, but I already have a couple spares. Thanks for the info though! It’ll be interesting to try.
It doesn’t look like they have any right now, but Bruno’s Shooter Supply gets VV powder pretty frequently and once you are on their email list, they email each time they get a shipment a powder added to the site.
That’s crazy! I don’t think I would have even considered H4350 for a BR but might have to try it now cause I have some. Although I’m shooting BRA but same principle.
I’ll try cleaning the carbon off and re-soaking it. The carbon that was on the prongs of the flash hider flaked off and was sitting in the bowl but I guess the stuff around the threads is probably more stubborn.
Here is a real good picture of exactly how mine looks. I don’t see anything that looks like a weld on it unless the weld is only down inside that hole.
