Precision 5.56 AR worth it when you already have a .308 semi?

This is 100% correct. You owe it to yourself and to Eugene Stoner to own and shoot as many AR style rifles as you can afford. It's also very sound financially, I call it my investment in precious American metals.

    MK 12 mod 1 velocities

I was wondering if a post like this would pop up. I've loaded and shot a lot of Tac over the years, and found it to be a nice powder for velocity, accuracy, and metering, but I noticed it was very temperature sensitive (compared to what I would like to see). According to the manufacturer, it...

    Looking to build an SBR

I like to build my own, as factory stuff rarely suites my needs. I just set up two 11.5" SBRs for my trust, the builds were as follows: -Mega forged upper and lower -11.5" barrels, one from Noveske, one from BCM. Both will shoot at or under MOA with 3.5x and 4x optics. The BCM seems to be...

    SBR Loads

I've had good luck running my standard 65 grain sierra's and 60 grain nosler ballistic tips over 8208 xbr in my 11.5" ar. I thought about trying to create an SBR custom load, but figured that any increase in velocity would be too minor to make up for the hassle of having different loads.

Is the Geiselle SSA-E a versatile trigger?

I've got several of their triggers, including the SD-E, SD3G, and SD-Combat. They are great units, and I've never had a problem with any of them. I prefer the look, feel and pull of the flat bow design, but it's really just a personal preference.

Mk12 with suppressor won't stay open after last round

Is that with the can or without the can? If both, then I think you were over gassed even without the can. Are you running a mid-length or rifle length gas system?

    Precision gas gun build help

The DPMS works fine so far, but I've always found their parts, parts kits, and rifles to be of slightly lower quality than their competitors. Young Mfg. has made a few 308 carriers, and they would be my first choice, but I could never find one. I have two JP full mass carriers and enhanced...

    Precision gas gun build help

I would highly recommend a Lilja barrel and a Syrac adjustable gas block. The hardest thing for me to find was the bolt and carrier. I ended up with a DPMS, which is less than stellar, but adequate so far.

Mk12 with suppressor won't stay open after last round

I think these guys are on to something and a heavier buffer may well fix your problem. Well, it will fix the symptom of your problem (your problem is too much gas). Can I ask where your spent cases are ejecting? If straight to the right is 3 oclock, and straight ahead is 12 oclock? The...

How and how often do you clean your precision gas gun?

I've found that it depends on the barrel. I used to be a "clean the copper out after every range trip" guy. Then I watched Magpul's "Art of the Precision Rifle." According to the instructor, quality barrels, that are properly broken in don't generally benefit from total copper removal. I...

.243 Win. for the AR platform.

I had the same dilema when I did up my ma-ten build. I felt like 308 was a little much for coyotes, and .243 is a little light for deer, and settled on the .260 rem. I still think a .243 in an AR platform would be a lot of fun.

260 Rem. 16" barrel too short?

I have a 20" gas gun in .260. Personally, if I were going any shorter than that, I would probably go with .308 in an 18" package.

Suppressors .30 cal, titanium, and QD............ Go!

I didn't mean to crap on your new can, I really do hear positive reaviews. I didn't mean difficult to remove or attach, I meant intricate or complicated. It looks to me like the can has moving parts inside of it to make the system work. I personally don't care for that, but in no way should...

Suppressors .30 cal, titanium, and QD............ Go!

I guess it all depends on how hard you run a semi auto. With the firing schedules these guns will see, Ti is a non issue on the semi auto guns. Even though we're talking about AR15s, these are hunting rifles. They won't ever see hard use, with multiple mag dumps or carbine class round counts...

Suppressors 30 BA, TiRant, Spectre, YHM 5.56, input? (Updated with short review)

Another quick update: TBAC totally stepped up with regards to the missing muzzle break, even though it was not clear who was at fault. That's huge customer service in my book. Also, I took the can out for another trip on my Ma-Ten .260 on Sunday and ripped through about 80 rounds. The...
