    PVA now offering AR15 barrels!

We have done a few over the years, it's not a regularly listed item because of how the market is with that product... more of a "you gotta know the chef" situation for a while. Now that the AR15 barrels are stable in production we're working on two things further; the AR15 with some select 473...

Thoughts on the Aero Precision SOLUS ?

As far as availability goes: The dealer structure has changed substantially. We are now dealing with outside rep groups instead of buying from Aero through their internal sales reps. I still cannot order receivers with a solid projected ship date or have anything "in stock".

Strasser RS 700: straight pull Remage-style barrel nut that uses R700 accessories (stocks, triggers)

I have a 7tw 300 BLK, but we can make a 308 for you. I don't normally keep finished barrels on the shelf, we just happened to get our wires crossed with an order from Strasser for test barrels and I have these 3 here. Making more is no problem if you want to put in an order. I don't have the...

Strasser RS 700: straight pull Remage-style barrel nut that uses R700 accessories (stocks, triggers)

I didn't try to Mark Walberg it and make a meal out of running it, but it does run nicely slow and quick. It doesn't work like a T bolt or an old K31. It has a cam that rocks back and forth to unlock and lock the action. It's positive feel and well machined. I found it easier to keep the...

Barrel flats, any one use them?

Yeah the Mcmaster options started at 15/16" A 3/8 torque wrench is a good thing to have; even harbor freight has some really cheap options for them.

Strasser RS 700: straight pull Remage-style barrel nut that uses R700 accessories (stocks, triggers)

Yes, I made some shouldered barrels for the Strasser. We have a few here now, got our wires crossed with them and they wanted barrel nut barrels so I have several prefits sitting on the shelf that need a home. I thought it was a really slick action, they have a pretty cool product.

Barrel flats, any one use them?

https://www.mcmaster.com/5844A17/ Mcmaster has a 3/4" with a 3/8 drive. It's less than the snapon truck FWIW

    First Remington 700 build..

What's the twist in the 308 barrel? In the short term you may have an easy jump to shoot some of the 308 caliber monos that I designed and manufacture to get you to 1100 yards with better consistency. https://patriotvalleyarms.com/seneca-match/ On the rifle project topic: It's well covered...

Barrel flats, any one use them?

Just hand snapping it. What you're doing with holding the butt between your feet and using a wrench is definitely getting more torque on there than just the snap of the wrist.

Barrel flats, any one use them?

We have cut a bunch of them over the years. It's functional no doubt. The torque question comes up and we recommend 75-100 because we need to put a number on there lest the old adage of 'if tight is good, then tighter is gooder' will be applied. Last year someone took it to heart and put so...

Anyone rebarrel an AR50 to 375x50bmg?

I haven't, however I was involved with the 375 Warner development about 10 years ago and we ended up cringing at each shot due to the incredibly short barrel life. It wasn't a 375-50 but more like a modified 375-415 Barrett with a different shoulder. Powder availability is the problem we ran...

    .223 Rifle Build

I have two options for 223 chambers, both the same body (which is also the same as a Wylde) 0.062 freebore (a Wylde is 0.0618, so it's a Wylde, I just got tired of people calling and saying "What's the freebore of your Wylde") 0.100 freebore (designed for bolt guns shooting 70+ grain bullets...
