    Cutting HS stock to shorten

    I have an HS pro series and want to shorten it an inch or so. Is this doable, don't know if they are hollow or solid etc.

    Thanks bigedp51. Bullet weight is 165 Hornady Interlock SPFB. I did a ladder from 45-49.5. Flame was noticeable at about 47. So lets use 49 grains of RL -17. I know it's not ideal for 308 but, I'm beggin' for powder.

    I reload 308 and constantly get sooty necks all the way from low charge to high charge regardless of powder. Accuracy is good but the soot bugs me. I always trim my cases to minimum every load just for consistency. My question is should I trim to minimum every time, or just keep them...

    Talk about complete vs. incomplete powder burn. I am loading 308 with R-17 because it's all I can get. The rounds group well but with huge flame out of 20" barrel. Does this mean that I am loading too much and the extra powder is just wasted? Is there a point, within safe parameters, when more...

    sticky 7.62 reloads

    I shot some 7.62 NATO in my m700. I reloaded it just to try. I FL resized with .308 die and reduced by 10%. The rounds chambered fine. After firing, bolt lift was fine but extraction was very sticky. It took two hands sticky. Brass had no pressure signs, only sooty necks. Question is...
