Has anyone here dealt with a sbr'd 308? I have an itch to build a 12.5" ar10... I know the ballistics are not up to the full power of the round but doing the math based on a 2250 fps found on another forum it still trumps the typical assault rifle calibers at just shy of 2k ft lbs.

I would th ink about the swfa ss 3-9x. It's ffp and fully adjustable. 9x may be stretching precision at 1k but I'm sure you can make good combat hits at 1k with it. Add 50 to your budget and I would consider the 3-15x ffp. The vortex hs-t line seems to be a good budget scope from reviews but...

Not quite match ammo but I've pulled sa battle pack bullets and replaced with nbt for hunting season. They were slightly more accurate. All I did was neck size and reseat the new bullets.

I too go back and forth over the years. I like my m14 rifle and it's accurate enough but my bolt gun is more accurate more often. I know the m14 is no ar10 but I haven't been around an ar10 yet that was reliable enough for me to be comfortable with.
