Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

Thanks for mentioning that. I've been wondering how everyone's Impacts are holding zero with recoil and time. Can anyone else comment on whether or not your Impact has held zero and what caliber(s) it has been used on with approximate round count? If any are shifting, are we talking large or...

    Thermal Scope vs Clip on

Your post has inspired me to integrate NV into my 300 WM. I intentionally left space for my Mk11 SIMRAD cap should I decide to do NV shenanigans with it in the future. This place is a bad influence

Night Vision How important is rail position for clip-on thermal use?

I haven't noticed the AN/PAS-13G or Steiner C35 to be too picky in that regard. That said, when I want to have something to index on for rails I just put a rail ladder or something comparable over the slots that I don't want it on.

Night Vision Vortex Impact 4000 Rifle/Rail mounted Range finder???

Depends on conditions and target size, of course, but it is doable. That said, I predominantly use WMLRFs at night with a clip-on where it would be even more difficult to use a MRD in this capacity. I don't usually dial unless I'm outside my speed drop range or the target is TINY. I like...

Spotting Scope TriPod Recommendations (for a heavy Vortex)

Please update the thread if you find something that truly fits the bill. I'm looking for the same type of thing for my Bushnell LMSS/PVS-27 spotter setup. After adding MRD, LRF, and illuminator, it should be around 9 lb but I haven't weighed everything yet. The tripod I'm currently using...

Night Vision Flir hiss and other assorted night time goon goodies

For those that have used both, how does the HISS XLR compare to the INOD type devices when it comes to image quality and features/useability?

Optic Needed for Intro to Precision Shooting course

I agree with trying before you buy if that is possible. If not, Optics Planet has the Vortex PST gen 2 3-15 with EBR-2C mil tree reticle for $570 and there are almost always ~10% off coupons to be had. That is a spectacular scope for the money. They track well, have good glass, and are...

Best suppressor for 300WM gas gun

Assuming the below: 1. the shooter is still going to be using earpro since it is still going to be loud as shit (port pop alone would have to be pretty bad on that kind of setup, I'd imagine) 2. the rifle is being employed as a precisionish weapon I'd buy a relatively lightweight steel can so...

Night Vision The Official: Steiner C35 Thermal Clip-on Review and User Thread!

You should buy that $1900 C35 immediately. That is an amazing deal. These devices punch way above their price.

Advice re Picture of NV Clip-On Issue

That is solid service, good on them. I had a PVS-14 with a couple of those almost twenty years ago, but I wasn't magnifying that screen like you do with a clip-on so I never really thought too much about it. If that was on my PVS-27 it would probably annoy me.

Rifle Scopes Is a Viper PST Gen 3 coming???

I sold my LHT 4.5-22 for several reasons, but chief among them was the fact that I could barely differentiate between it and my several gen 2 PST 3-15 scopes when it came to glass quality. That isn't a dig, necessarily, but the EBR-2D PSTs were about half the price at that time while having a...

Rifle Scopes Is a Viper PST Gen 3 coming???

I'd love a gen 2 PST 3-15 with locking turrets and shake awake illumination. Bonus points if they extend the tree to 15 mil for use with my 300 Blk subs, but I don't want to be too picky! That said, the existing 3-15 is a might big bang for the buck.

    Night Vision RIX L3

Exactly. I'm not sure how the internals worked on the old AN/PAS-13B scopes, but simply twisting the FOV ring seemed to allow two different focal lengths on the objective lens side of things. That was 20ish years ago. I've used those devices pretty extensively and, aside from their bulkiness...
