well, i picked up an american defense ad-recon with tactical levers. overall i like it... but am thinking i should have gone with the recon-x... right now... i can't be truly nose to charging handle. I'll keep it and play... but down the road might pick up the longer-offset mount.
actually, reading the sticky at the top of the forum, looks like 1.4" rise is pretty typical for ar mounts... now just down to if i want the scope forward or not.
with larger scopes like this... do most people shoot to get them forward for nose-to-charging-handle shooting... or pass on that so you don't have to use offset mounts to move it forward over the handgguard? also, if using a stock without a raised or adjustable cheek piece, how high a mount do...
So I was out looking at new scopes for crossbow and 308 AR and wasn't finding any higher-end scopes for the AR, or the lower power scopes I wanted to see for the bow. On a whim, I looked through a Redfield Revolution 2-7x33. Holy cow... for a cheap scope, it had a heck of a nice image for...
I've been reading a few threads on these scopes. I'm sort of looking for a new scope... I currently like my Trijicon Accupoints for hunting rifles as I've found their image to be great, and they are relatively forgiving for eyebox when shouldering for a shot. Do any of you have the Accupoint...
Re: Benelli shotgun question I've shot lots of the Benellis, and owned a sport 2 and an m90. Until the Vinci, the comb of the stock was never quite right for me, but I could make do. I shoot lots of sporting clays, and use the Benelli as my foul-weather gun for days when the over-under...
Re: What magnification do you normally shoot at? I find myself sticking near the bottom end of my scopes... for field of view when hunting. 1.5 - 2 or 3.
Re: 10mm AR-15 with TR243g scope Barrel done by Ronald Williams (look around in the pistol cal forum at arfcom and you'll find him). Oh, he also did the gas system. Feeding's been ok... still doing a little tweaking.
Re: Savage 358 Winchester Flectar well, I think I've learned something... don't paint the rail. It's tough to get rings to clamp on to the painted surface uniformly. I think I've used up a lot of my windage adjustment because the two rings are slightly off kilter. I got the scope to...
Re: Savage 358 Winchester Flectar I actually did some tests with fusion and this stuff.... they performed about the same... my end result issues were due to my prep issues... not the paint.
Re: Savage 358 Winchester Flectar Gun is a Stevens 200 .243 rebarreled with a 358 Winchester Stainless barrel. Rifle Basix trigger group, EGW rail. Used the Aervoe camo paints Brownells sells and BullDog Arms Flectar stencils. Scope's a Trij. 2.5-10x56 with a red post. (I'd put on a...
