    I have been using Lake City brass in my DPMS LR-308 with the 24" heavy barrel and 1/10 twist with 178gr. A-Max It has shot 1\4" groups consistently from 100 yrds. I did weigh sort the brass to one grain lots. When using pulled 147 gr. fmjbt it will still shoot under an inch. at 100 yrds.

    Thanks to all that responded. I learned that I need to buy better brass and give up on dry weighing them and go a head and start the water volume checks.

    What .308 brass would be best to get max accuracy and why? New to loading rifles

    I have been shooting the brass form all the Fed. GMM 175gr. that I had purchased when I first got my LR-308. It is okay but I would recommend sorting it by weight. I have found quite a bit of different in them. I did not buy all the FGMM from one lot and there is several grains different in them.
