After some experimenting I have come to the conclusion that it's my bipod - or more specifically how I use the bipod with the new chassis. It appears that I have to load the bipod more than I used to. Does this sound right to you guys? 100 yards Moderate loading Light loading Heavy loading...
I tried to do this too. However, I was never able to get the drive perfectly centered in the socket. This caused a lot of wobble. I finally gave up and bought the real adapter as I decided it wasn't with my time. Good luck though and I hope it works out better for you than it did for me. I...
Thanks for all the suggestions. I had a friend make the same suggestion about shooting one round, break position, rebuild, and shoot again. I torqued everything to specs as I put it together, but I am not above tearing back down and doing it again. I am really thinking it is something I'm doing...
I just got a new chassis - XLR Carbon - for my Tikka T3 .308 and I'm having an issue with vertical stringing that I never had before. My load is: Nosler Custom Comp 175gr IMR 4064 42.7gr Lapua brass CCI 200 primers The primers are a point of concern as I've only used GM210Ms but haven't been...
I shoot those too and have seen the discoloration when I left them out of the bag. However, I have not experienced any accuracy issues. I am logical, rational, analytical, and direct. Just call me Sheldon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks - definitely like the Lapua brass. This is my first time customizing a rifle like this so I'm really excited about it. Will post back with some target pics. I am logical, rational, analytical, and direct. Just call me Sheldon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just got my XLR Carbon Chassis. Can't wait to spend some quality time behind it. I am logical, rational, analytical, and direct. Just call me Sheldon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You're over thinking it. MOA is an arc measurement of distance not surface area. In your example, 1 MOA at 600 yards equalling 6" (actually 6.28314") means the size of the target is 6" on a given line. Or the distance from one edge to the opposite edge is 6" (1 MOA). For a circle it would be...
Different powders will have a different variations. For my rifle, I get the same velocity with Lapua brass at .4 grains less of IMR 4064 than Winchester brass. But like has already been said, just start low and work up.
I have the Hornady and while I have had challenges with it in the past, it seems to work well now. I did have to have it replaced though. The first one I purchased died during calibration and would not turn back on. I had only had it a few months. Hornady replaced it under warranty of course...
