Just bought one for $1436 shipped from locked and loaded. Heck of a deal and I've been tracking prices over the last 6 months trying to find it less than $1850. This was a buy now! price for me.
Oh man. I’m disappointed to read this. I have been very happy with my 2 4-20x XTR II’s and a 3.3-18x US made XTR III. I have had a Pro sitting in my cart for Black Friday hoping for a deal or something but now I’m second guessing that I should get another minox LR instead.
I am really liking this scope but I can’t deal with the knurled knobs anymore. The elevation turret is manageable but the zoom ring is too much. I bit the bullet and ordered a throw lever.
I have both. The 3 is much stiffer than the 2. I haven’t worked the XTR iii all that much but I suspect it’ll loosen up. If not I’ll get a throw lever.
The 3.3-18x arrived today. I never had a problem with my 4-20x XTR II but this XTR III is a heck of an upgraded model. The glass looks good with just a hint of purple fringing if I’m at a light transition. The field of view is incredible. The scr2 reticle is nice and thin, I think I’ll like it...

Since pictures and video are out there already, could we get a top down picture wherein we can make our own inferences to what this mystery XTR might be called. I ask because my “enhance” button is currently disabled.
From the grainy YouTube video it looks like it may be a switch rather than a button. Since we already know that the illumination appears controlled in the typical manner, what else could that be on the turret? LRF? Nah. What about a switch for a spring loaded mechanism that when slid to the...
