How do you note your rifles current zero setting when storing a rifle?

Nah. Stop using "zeroing" as your verb. Thats why everyone is having fun in this thread. Zeroing is the wrong word. You zero your rifle once, then you're done zeroing (until you change your ammo, etc). After that, you're DIALING. If you want to keep your scope dialed with your 600 yard drop...

How do you note your rifles current zero setting when storing a rifle?

You're the only one who does that for a reason. It's not a thing. Your zero is your zero. That doesn't change. Most people zero precision rifles at 100 yards. Once you are zeroed, then you reset your scope's Zero Stop so you can always dial back to 0.0. Elevation dialed in for a particular...

American made medium power optic (3-18+)

Not too many options. Leupold MK5 3.6-18 are designed, machined, and assembled in the USA. They import some parts and raw materials from overseas. Vortex AMG 6-24 is 99.9% made in the USA. Only thing foreign is the reticle which is sourced from Germany.

    Best Ballistics App 2025

Strelok Pro is still absolutely available on Android devices. You have to buy it through the Huawei App Store and use a VPN with your location set to Canada. So its a couple extra steps but overall still simple. That's also the only version that is getting updates right now. But it still has the...

Geissele MRGG-S adopted by USSOCOM in 6.5 CM.

No one is debating this. A 6.5 CM will always outperform a 6mm ARC. But is the increased performance worth the significant penalty in weight and bulk of the rifle, magazine, ammo, spare parts? And the increased recoil? For a DMR it probably makes sense to have a larger frame gasser slinging...

KAC vs Radian Model 1 vs JP enterprises ctr-02

There are no minimum power factor restrictions in any of the predominant carbine matches in the US, e.g. 3 gun, 2 gun, Run n Gun, Tactical Games, etc but there are min-max caliber restrictions. Typically, as long as your rifle is chambered in .223/5.56 or greater, you're fine. Some disciplines...

KAC vs Radian Model 1 vs JP enterprises ctr-02

JP rifles see more rounds, foul weather, and abuse than most "duty" guns. As long as you keep up on preventive maintenance and replace consumable parts at their recommended intervals (which is true for any gun) then they will just keep on chugging. KAC and LMT make a premium but still "rack...

KAC vs Radian Model 1 vs JP enterprises ctr-02

No rifle will be reliably 1 moa or better unless you're planning on shooting premium match ammo. Bulk 55gr won't get it done. So make sure to plan/budget for that. Based on your criteria, I would steer you toward the JP.

    NEW- Limited Razor 1-6

From the responses here, it's pretty easy to see who shoots carbine and 2-gun matches and who hasn't ever had to shoot fast before.

Rifle Competition Events Heartbreak Run-n-Gun 2025 AAR

Lots of great lessons learned! A worthwhile day out. I was there too. It was almost my 50th RnG match, I was on the podium, and I also had plenty go wrong as well. Despite a relatively high finish, I learned some (minor) things to refine as well in the never ending quest for improvement. The...

Gee, Think There is a LITTLE Conflict of Interest Here?

Not a chance. Never voted democrat in my life. I believe in American ideals, separation of powers, and the pillars of democracy. The only thing that has changed with Trump is whose name is on the checks. His entire career is built on theft, lies, infidelity, cheating his contractors, petty...

Gee, Think There is a LITTLE Conflict of Interest Here?

Elon represents the biggest conflict of interest in human history. And OP is concerned about a judge who.... (checking my notes).... receives zero dollars for his work as a volunteer board member of an NGO? Yeah, that about sums up the clown world we live in.

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

I just voted for 2-10 and 2-12, but the 6x erectors are very well sorted at this point, rock solid, and proven. Correct me if I'm wrong with the following assumption, but I believe a 6x doesn't give up anything in real world measurable effects, so might as well go with the 6x rather than the 5x...

Run-N-Gun [Centerfire Biathlon] kit - What do you run?

Are you in the "RnG Discussion" group on Facebook? That's the best place to find match announcements. If you do join, make sure to answer all the questions or you'll be automatically denied.

Run-N-Gun [Centerfire Biathlon] kit - What do you run?

I think a lot of the difference in difficulty is attributable to the demands of the sport. RnG stages are shot totally blind, with no walkthrough, and very importantly, there has to be zero (or close to zero) reset required since there is no "squad" to paste and the clock never stops ticking so...
