I had the same issues and concerns. I pulled the little metal tab out in the the front of the mag and gained 20-30 thousandths. I then took a triangle file and took out as much as I dared take and leave it strong, I think I got to 3.450... ran it like that for years, no problem. Wound up selling...
I sent Jeff my A7 (long range model) a couple of years ago for a couple months to look at to build bottom metal for. He wound up having too much on his plate to do it. He offered me a free bottom metal for my trouble. I never took him up on it as it wound up being a year or 2 before I needed...
It's different than both. I had an A7 long range in 300 win, other than having a custom builder inlet for it there aren't alot of off the shelf choices. Maybe Bell and Carlson.
I went very similar. I did a tikka Super lite in 300 Wm it weighs 5.5 without the scope. With hot 180 gr it kicks like an SOB and I'm 6'3 and 350. Great gun though. 6 point 5 is right about the lands I pulled the metal strip in the front of my mag and filed it out as far as I felt ok about...
