I went with this one: https://www.opticsplanet.com/steiner-1-4x24mm-p4xi-30mm-tactical-riflescope.html?_iv_code=ST-RS-P4XI-5204&utm_source=event-driven&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=optics_planet_order_confirmation_jun_15_2025_23_59 Good price, I like the reticle. Just wished it went to 6x

    DG optic

I'm looking for now, what has become a LPVO. This is going on a 9.3x64 Brenneke, and will be used as a dangerous game rifle. 1-4X would be OK, but 1-6X is better. It needs to have an illum reticle and a ballistic reticle would be nice. I'm OK with Japanese glass, assembled in Philippines, but...

    Angle shooting

Good advice DG. I won't be shooting at game over 500 yards, but the angles might be steep. 1000 yd shots for me are for steel/paper only as my military days ended decades ago.

    OAL for 7,62 NATO

The incendiary's are 140gr the other 147-150gr. I'm running 44 gr of WC 844 (H335) or 46gr WC 846 (BLC-2). Testing isn't an option as the gun is 1250 miles away. I have tried soft point bullets in the 1919 before and that was a FAIL!

    OAL for 7,62 NATO

These might have been for the 30-06, and I'm loading into a 308. That might explain the cannelure difference

    OAL for 7,62 NATO

Thanx guys. I guess I'm OK with what I've got, I'll just ignore the cannelure. I just didn't want to get all 2500 belted up and find them too long.

    OAL for 7,62 NATO

I'm loading up 2500 or so rounds for a belt fed 1919, using cloth belts. When I seat the bullet to 2.8" (actually 2.790") I'm still .06" or so short of the cannelure. If anybody can measure a NATO ball/FMJ round for me and tell me the OAL, that would be great. I may have a mix of pulled/new...

    Angle shooting

I always want 3-5 ways to skin the cat. While gizmos and techy stuff make life easy, I want to know how the tecky program was written. If I can duplicate it with the math, that is all I need to do. I don't plan on taking an abacus and slide rule into the field. If I can prove the tecky gizmo to...

    Angle shooting

OK, I think I have it. Range finder gives me hypotenuse and also shot angle, so I should be able to do the math and come up with actual distance gravity pulls on the bullet. Thanx. I know a ballistic calc is the easy button, but I like to know the long hand too. Are there any apps that can...

    Angle shooting

I know I can get a cosign indicator on my rail/scope, but I don't want move it from gun to gun or buy one for every rifle. I want to learn how to do the math longhand. From geometry (or maybe it was calculus) in HS, the saying was Oscar Has A Heap Of Apples Opposite/Hypotenuse = sign...

Am I just trash with an AR?

Glad to see I'm not the only one. I can shoot a bolt just fine, an AR = if I'm under 1.5" I'm ecstatic!! I can hand my AR and my load to a buddy and he can shoot .7" with it  .

Need help setting up 300 Blk

I don't know the barrel maker and port size. A buddy gave this too me with a bunch of Black Rain parts/receiver and asked if I could put it together. He was then killed in a M/C crash. I can measure the port, but that is as far as I can go. I just ordered a Banish 30 for this and other guns.

Need help setting up 300 Blk

Thanx guys. I have a 16" Whisper, but this is my first path down the short barrel pistol brace road. It will be subs 100% of the time, if I want to go super I'll reach for the 16". I just e-filed for the can - I'm guessing 10 weeks into a trust
