    I have a pbr I've been wanting to build up. I got a McMillan a3 stock that's supposed to be inletted for an spr thinking that they would be the same, but when I tried putting my bottom metal in the front mounting hole it didn't fit and to make it worse when I took it to the smith he said it...

    forbes rifles? anyone have any experience?

    I was in my local shop and was handed a Forbes 25-06, and was immediately impressed with the weight and feel of it. Any of you guys use one of these? Thinking of pickin it up for a whitetail buster. Also is $1400 too high on one of these? Really had a hard time researching this one.

    I'm gonna say 7.62x54r , it's the round that won ww2. You can argue all you want, I know casualties were outrageous but the ruskies beat us to Berlin. It's still in use today. I know lots of guys that have had an old Mosin for a first centerfire.

    I have been trying to build my first custom rifle, and of course been looking at fluteing the bolt. Does micro slick really make the bolt that much better, or is it a waste of $?

    I'm also one that enjoys the challenge of trying to figure out the small tricks to shooting some of these older rifles. Also you just can't beat the feel of holding some of these pieces of history.
