    Long neck 257 SAUM

I thought someone must be experimenting with this cartridge as dies for it are listed on CH-4D's and Redding's websites. Dies are also listed for the 257 Pronghorn which is the 270 WSM necked to 25 caliber. Only reason 25 caliber isn't a viable option for long range shooting is commercial bullet...

    Long neck 257 SAUM

Case capacity to bore ratio with 25 SAUM is less than 300 Win mag. I make my own bullets, BC of my 257 caliber 135 gr is .630. I have had success with a 1:8 25 WSSM and 135 gr bullets at 1000 yds and beyond. Single shot bolt guns always feed. Rifle is built to F-open weight regs. Intent of rifle...

    Long neck 257 SAUM

Looking for load data exchange for a 257 SAUM. I take 300 WSM annealed, then size to 300 SAUM, and neck that to 25 cal. Barrel is 1:8 twist, for shooting 135 to 150 gr bullets. Best load so far is 135 gr at 3150 fps with Retumbo.

Also the neck sizer bushing is engaging the neck before case is supported in die. Neil Jones arbor press neck dies support case before...

    Few questions on QuickLoad

Will Quickload let user enter bullet weights that don't exist commercially? I'm referring to 257 cal 135-155 gr bullets. The old Powley powder computer tops out at IMR 4831. How much computer expertise is required to get the most out of the program?

    Powder for Short Barrel 300WM?

Load the optimum powders for the cartridge, not the barrel length. If you see muzzle flash you didn't flinch.

Greetings from the "Peace Country of Northern Alberta"

Looking forward to exchanging ideas on loads, wildcats, bullets, and their long range performance. I have competed in 1000 yd bench rest and over the last few years in F-class. Participating in one-mile shoots was a mistake that just opened the door for a 2000 yd challenge and who knows how far...
